What is Everyone Reading

At Graves End by Jeaniene Frost again. It s book 3 or 4 of the Night Huntress series (Cat and Bones). I am rereading the Night Huntress World books because I got sucked back into them with the author rewriting the first book from the guy's(Bones) point of view rather than the woman's on her blog. If you are interested in supernatural stuff like witches, werewolves, vampires, zombies, it is an awesome series.

I love Cat and Bones! <3

I'm awful for reading multiple books at once. Beside my bed right now are:

Malcolm Gladwell - Talking to Strangers (I think I'll actually finish this one before the rest)
Cathy Glass - Innocent
Joy Fielding - All the Wrong Places
Michael Arntfield - Murder City

Apparently I'm on a non-fiction kick since the Joy Fielding book is the only fiction.

I love Cat and Bones! <3
OMG! You're the first person I know who has read them. Have you read the whole series? They are so addicting.

I haven't read all the companion novellas yet. Otherwise, yes. So addictive! I binge read them.

That's what I have been doing of late in preparation of reading the new Ian books. I have difficulty picturing Bones and well, most of the male characters in her books for some reason. I try to imagine what the characters would look like when I read, usually compared to an actor that may portray them. Have you read the blog that the author has put up of chapters from the first book in Bones' point of view?

I haven't yet. I'm sure they'll be good, though. Orson Scott Card did the same thing with the ender's game series. I am an oddball in that I become the characters when I read. So much better than a movie. Yes, I know, it's weird.

My goal this year is to actually read more literature. Somehow I feel like I've missed out on reading a bunch of the classics that "everyone" has read/should read... so, I've begun a list. Currently in the beginning chapters of "The Tale of Two Cities" by Charles Dickens. Hoping to enjoy it...

I read that in high school. If I remember right, I did enjoy it. If I recall, there was not a Charles Dickens book that I did not enjoy.

If you need some additions to your list, I quite like this one - https://www.listchallenges.com/rorys-book-club-original-wb-list. The WB (now the CW) created it to be Rory Gilmore's Book Club back in the day. I'm a huge GG fan and have read many books off this list. They've all been great.

I agree on the movie thing. Books are usually better than movies. I believe I have found someone who finally fits, the guy who plays Lucifer lol.
I liked Great Expectations.

Yes! Actually that series was the first one I read of hers before I got into Cat and Bones. So, I have a soft spot for Vlad. I had made a comment on Jeaniene Frost's Facebook asking if she had ever planned on doing a book for Katie, Tate and Cat's daughter. She replied and said that she has many ideas for a book about her when she is an adult. I hope she does write one.

Nothing bothers me more than feeling like a "series" is incomplete because characters are introduced last minute and then there is no follow up. JF doing that is not nearly as bad as the Keri Arthur Dark Angel series. She made two of the main characters get pregnant and start relationships (that you waited for the whole time!) and then no follow up. The series just ends. So aggravating.

I just started the book about Mencheres and Kira again, having just finished Spade and Denise's book.

It's exciting to know she's thinking of continuing.
I really like Keri Arthur's souls of fire series. It's icky waiting for the library to get the next one.

Oh, I have not read those. I have not read Jeaniene Frost's "fire" (Beautiful embers"?) series yet either. Have you read that one? It is killer waiting for new books in beloved series.

That's another on my list. I get my books digitally through the library, so the wait can be so long. It's frustrating, but worth it.

We have a program like that too. However, if what I am wanting is available on disc or hard copy first, I will go get it so I can at least start. Someone at our library must be a book ahead of me in the Night Huntress series because I am finding each next book checked out on digital.

That happened to me when I was reading the Kate Daniels series. I read fast so I checked out the next three books while waiting and was able to jump, leap frog style, ahead of the person who was accidentally keeping me from knowing what happened next. Our library lets you keep each book for 21 days with a grace period of 3 days on each side. After waiting a whole month for each book for two months i was getting desperate! I don't feel too badly, because, once I got the one I was waiting for, I had finished it and the one after it in three days. Whoever was reading them didn't wait long.

That's me too! Especially, when I rent both the text (whether digitally or hard copy) and audio (whether CD or MP3), I can get through them in a couple days. It's so nice to listen to a book on drives into work and while I am doing housework.
