Hello everyone. I came here pretty much out of frustration tying to find a decent place to learn about MLP. I have done antiques since about 1962. Yes, I'm 62, but I started really young. I am a finder of items more than a collector, although messing with these little guys is starting to affect me. You will find me a very laid back individual. A funny fact about me is that my real life initials are MLP which I will be glad to prove if called out on it. lol
I am not a professional dealer. I do this kind of stuff for fun, and sometimes profit if I'm lucky. I do antique appraisal from time to time for the public TV station here when they have their antique fairs. No... it isn't for The Antiques Roadshow (I wish). I have done appraisals for about 12 years and am self taught. I work with glass, pottery, porcelain, bottles, older toys, marbles, advertising, paper goods, and Christmas ornaments. If/when I do start selling some items here, I may be open to trades for such items. If I break protocol or rules here, I apologize in advance. I did read the FAQ stuff and am trying to proceed in a law abiding fashion.
I love finding and researching old things. I ran across an Apple Bloom So Soft that speaks Russian. I can't find out a thing about it, so I guess I'll start a thread on it soon unless someone wants to throw me a life line here.
I am also very verbose so thanks for letting me ramble, and if any of you all need an antique something or other identified, let me know. First rule that I tell everyone about antiques is that you don't sell to your appraiser, because some appraisers know you don't know what your stuff is worth and cheat you. I won't try to cheat you, but if you want to trade me something, I will tell you to get the price comped somehow so you feel at ease with the trade. OK. That's just me being me. I hope to have some nice times here and everyone be safe.
Sincerely,
Keefur
