Unpopular Pony Opinions

I don't like Tex. I can't explain why but his colors are just blah.

I only like roughly 1/3 of the Birthstone Ponies. A lot of them are boring and don't match their months at all. Baffling considering Hasbro made great seasonal/holiday ponies.

I'm not big on G2 Babies and I don't like Teeny Tinies.

I prefer regional exclusives over most Variants.

I don't like the Mimic pose.

I don't like G3/G4 Breezies.

I don't like G1 and G4 Applejack. G3 is the best Applejack.

I don't like the second set of Brush n Grows.

If I bought the Soda Sippins, I'd totally pay someone to fill in the holes in their upper lips.

I have no qualms about opening MIB vintage toys.

G3 Cotton Candy is much prettier then G1 CC.

Early G4 is a clear example :p

I think I mentioned this before, but I don’t get why the First Tooth ponies are so underrated/disliked (besides their tooth gimmick, ofc). I think its a cute set. The poses are adorable!

Feel free to laugh at me. When I got my first First Tooth Pony it was in a lot. I had no idea they even existed, and was perplexed at the little white nubbin sticking out of its mouth and thinking it was a defect or flashing, I almost sliced it off with a razor knife to 'fix' her. Luckily for Tic Tac Toe I was delayed then found out it was supposed to be like that.

Derp.

I thought of one that might be really unpopular! I don't think I've ever seen this said before.

I actually really like fading pink hair, because it fades!
MLP feels too over saturated with pink sometimes, and I like the variety of being able to find ponies with white hair in place of pink. I would never intentionally fade them (Like my So Soft Twilight from mine AND my aunt's childhoods still has near perfect pink hair! Most of them still do, actually! But almost all my 2nd hands have white hair) but when I find them with it already faded, I'm never bothered, and usually actually happy about it! My thrifted G3 Aurora Mist has stark white hair and I REALLY prefer it that way.

Plus I'm sure it could help save a pretty penny on certain ponies that might otherwise cost a lot, for something I consider a feature, not a flaw! :lolpony:

I was just about to come here and say something similar. Some ponies I like with the pink, Dazzleglow, Star Catcher etc. Some I prefer with it white, Steamer, Sea Breeze etc.

Gasp! I'm so offended! :shock::lolpony:

Lol! Tex was my favorite as a kid. Slugger was my first BB, but Tex was my second and I played with him a lot.

I also really love Tex! He was my very first adult boy pony. My aunt gave me all her G1 ponies when I was a kid, so I grew up with both G1 and G3. (I tell that story too much! But it helps for context) Lucky was my only "real" baby boy (I always figured the newborn twins were each 1 boy and 1 girl! So my Big Top and Noodles [who I always thought was Doodles] were/are still boys in my mind) and Tex was my only adult boy! Thus, all the girls naturally swooned over him, lol. But he was happily married to G3 Royal Bouquet, and their kids were Lucky, Baby Tic Tac Toe, Big Top & Toppy, and Doodles & Noodles. They lived on a "ranch" (The G1 Nursery with the stable looking carry case in the "yard", and I always used tall books to build extra walls) Their crazy aunt was G3 Gem Blossom who would occasionally stop in for a visit. I had this weird Sims esque game I played out with them for years. Meanwhile, in other parts of Ponyland, PERPETUAL WAR WITH DRAGONS- and sometimes Pony Fight Club in the Cotton Candy Cafe.
Strange times in Ponyland during my childhood, for sure...

Ooh, this is fun. I see I'm late to the party, but here are some of mine:

I don't like Twinkle Eyed ponies. Their pupil-less eyes creep me out! (Also, their back story is super disturbing. Look it up if you don't know!)

I never got into any of the TV shows, though I did watch some of FiM to see what all the fuss was about. I think it's a super cute kids' show, and I did enjoy it, but honestly don't understand why people are so obsessed with it or what the whole brony thing is about. I got tired of it and quit before finishing Season 2. I also think the show has horrible music! Really, some better songwriting would improve it vastly...

I don't like G2 or G3. I'm pretty much G1 all the way.

I dislike tinsel, pearly finish and loose glitter. And then Basic Fun did allllllllll those things in one pony. All at the same time. The only thing missing was a clear glitter body.

The Magical Wing G2s are pretty, but the removable wings is a tacky, lazy idea and I'd rather have one without them.

I’m working my way through a fairly sizeable box of very dirty-baity kinda ponies right now and in that box I have a few sea ponies... I knew they’d be disgusting when I opened them. But like common Hasbro!!!!
Who was the guy that was all “let’s make sea horse toys for the water!! Let’s put exposed untreated metal but in them to really make them sink and let our kids bathe with them!” “Best idear ever Billy-Bob” *instert goofy laughter here*
I want to love the G1 Seaponies like I did as a child but now they’re just annoying.

This is what I pulled out of three (two adults and a baby) today. It’s like Hasbro went to the tool box and was like well, this is heavy metal stuff - put it in. Oh look at this. Put it in!!!! Geeze.

I’m convinced this is exactly why some are so difficult to find. Because the dopes at Hasbro put metal in water toys.............

I love the rearing pose So Soft ponies but I hate that they'e the ONLY ponies that can't stand on their own. (Not counting the Love Melody pose, don't even get me started! Lol) I have seen the clear stands go for small fortunes themselves too. It's just like... Why you gotta play us like that Hasbro?! Most kids will lose or discard a boring clear piece of plastic.

Ahaha! I also love the rearing pose ponies, but you're right, they can be difficult to display, and while I was meticulous about keeping things together when I was a child, my parents probably would have thrown it away, thinking it was a piece of packaging. I think it would have been neat if they'd made the stands a bit more interesting (for example, a lot of Breyer horses have themed stands; a racetrack ground for the Smarty Jones mold, a brick wall jump for the Jumping Horse mold, etc).

I can't tell you how many times my Magic Star has fallen off her shelf >u< I'm lucky enough that my Skippity Doo came with her stand from her previous owner.

If you're in need of stands, though, I can direct you to Clipper's e-crater, where you can buy replica stands <3

Oooh, replica stands! Thanks, this solves all my problems. Thank you!!!

I don't think I've seen anything written about this yet: I really don't like the Diva pose from G3. There is just something about it that drives me up the wall. I will actively avoid ponies that have it, even if they're otherwise perfectly fine from a color/design standpoint.

I think it has to do with the way the head is tilting back. It makes it look like the pony is trying to seduce me, which is not a quality I look for.

Makes sense.

I can't stand Pinkie Pie in any incarnation. She's got a dull color scheme. Her personality went from mildly irritating to full blown obnoxious. And her voice went from decent to, please-never-open-your-mouth-again. I wish she'd be gone and stay gone.

I think Trixie's 3rd person speech is annoying.

I don't care for the Baby Lucky pose. Clipper is the only exception.

I think Wave Runner and Seaflower are the two most beautiful Sunshine Ponies.
