I’ve also found that smiles or humor are contagious.
That's what I said!!! :lolpony: <3
Whenever my dad has a problem with a company the first thing he says to the representative is "I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the company you work for! So please don't take what I say personally"

Usually, for me, it’s after I’ve been on hold 30+ minutes, transferred everywhere, or been repeatedly disconnected. I don’t have a ton of minutes to waste calling over and over just to wait through those awful automated systems... and I won’t even get started on the voice recognition menus. I have excellent enunciation and those systems never understand me. I think they were made to understand poorly spoken USA English. Oh, and yes, there is a difference between USA English and it’s original form in the UK. It’s not just the accent.

I know what you mean with the bot rep,
In regards to dialect, I've been studying the different dialects in various regions across Japan, and I can conclusively say that I have successfully confused myself lol!
Language is very complicated, and has many hidden rules, and shortcuts that are hard to spot to non native speakers, it's fascinating, and challenging, I love it!

There’s no need to delete anything. :) I’m just sharing the views and reality from the other side as well.

Not having the proper training is not the fault of front desk staff but the fault of the practice manager and owner. If your going to be mad at anyone share that frustration with the doctor when you do talk with them. They are the only ones who can make the appropriate changes with in the clinic.

Handling insurance and company’s is a long and lengthy process and every company has a different process. So, it can very much be confusing if it’s the first time they’ve dealt with your particular insurance company. (Or if they are indeed a new hire.)

I understand your frustration in not getting what you need in a timely manner, but all I ask is to remember the person on the other end is human too. I have a lot of health issues and I’ve been on both sides so I can see it differently than most people. It’s a small gesture but it can mean the biggest difference in the end for both you and the person on the other end. Why get mad over something out of your control? That energy is better spent on something productive. <3

I have a family member who worked at this specific clinic and he said some receptionists are as lazy as possible at this specific clinic and mess up billing for patients. This clinic is only clinic I've ever ran into these problems with so it is a problem with this clinic. Info not appreciate my situation being minimized when this clinic isn't serving its patients as well as other clinics are. This isn't a broad sweeping statement generalizing all receptionists in the receptionist field.

I should be getting calls back from the nurseline, receptionist getting my info to billing and billing responding to my calls.

Billing takes 3 weeks to get back to me, and nurse line took a week and a half to get back to me about my prescription mslfunctions and instead of connecting me to higher ups to dealwith this, reception shrugs and leaves me hanging.

NOT cool. And no one else can sit here and tell me they wouldn't be upset if they themselves went through this.

I’d be livid... then probably break down crying for a while from sheer frustration.

I absolutely agree with you that things should be addressed in a timely manner. I also agree that it seems as though the issue is with in your clinic, however, I think putting the entire blame on reception staff is not right. There's many hands in the pot in your situation and you've chosen to zone in on the front of the line who in this case is reception staff.

NO ONE is "gaslighting" you nor is anyone attacking you in any way. I apologize if anything I have said came across this way to you. We (I am) are simply informing you that the fault is not always just on reception. And in your first comment you said "they will just say "I am just a dumb receptionist! I just sit here and greet people!" this statement alone implies that this is directed to all who do reception work in the health care field. That statement alone is extremely hurtful and discriminatory to anyone who has worked in the health care field, especially now with a pandemic and when more and more responsibility, stress and even more physical and verbal abuse falls upon us.

Now, this board is not meant to discuss matters such as this and we will no longer accommodate such discussions here. If you would like to discuss further you can send myself (or another moderator) a private message or if you need to vent, please do so in the Dream Beauty Lounge.

Oh, my! I didn’t realize this wasn’t in the db lounge. Wow. Yard work is effecting my brain!

Please help me! I can't stop repeating this in my mind! It's a never ending loop!

The thing on my mind is that I'm excited about finally after almost two years of waiting for my uncle to remember to bring the Betamax machine with him, he finally has! But now I have the dilemma of what to do with the thing as I don't really have space for it.

I thought I was finally gonna be able to get a new battery for my iPhone, but they won’t replace it :hmph: they say it’s too old and not supported anymore

Bummer. iPhone 5 and earlier are ’not supported’ I believe. My mom had an iPhone 5. She got the new se when it came out and, honestly, it’s a great deal for the cost. Especially if you like Apple. We all have plans that are no contract and you buy your own phone outright, though.

I don’t know what it’s called, but my dad has an extra external battery he used for a long time to keep his old iPhone going. It just charged with a usb on one end and on the other you could pull out a short cord to charge almost anything while out and about. It was a great little thing for over a year.

Maybe a phone repair place would do it? Often Apple may say the device is too old but independent repair places will do it. I think it’s just Apple’s way of getting you to buy a new product :hmph:

Yeah mine is an SE but apparently because they made a new SE, Apple doesn’t allow Best Buy to change the battery in mine anymore...I guess I needed to go sooner but they hadn’t been open for appointments until recently. I’ve been doing the same thing as your dad, but I wanted to be able to use it without being plugged in

That is exactly what the Best Buy employee said, any apple certified place isn’t allowed to do it so he recommended 2 other places that probably will (as long as they still have the right battery in stock). So I’m gonna call them and see, but I felt better about leaving my phone with the certified people

My brother thinks I should just switch to an android cause you can take the batteries out easily yourself, but I love my SE, it’s so tiny!

I've always used Samsung devices. They work well enough.

I haven’t tried Samsung before but my friend has one and says it’s great too, I like apple best though
I’m an Apple girl too, I like that all my devices are connected and I don’t have to worry about remembering multiple passwords and things. It’s just convenient for me.

The biggest and most annoying downfall with Apple product is their phasing out of older products. I had and used my iPhone 4 until the 7+ came out and my phone suddenly because obsolete. I was so annoyed but luckily my BF’s company was doing their annual upgrade of devices and I was able to snag a new phone at cost. Now as another new phone is expected to drop again soon I worry that my phone will once again become a “dinosaur” being a few years old now. My Apple TV also recently was unable to update as it too is now obsolete, so I had to upgrade that. I’m endlessly cheap so shelling out $200 for that was annoying but I do love the new one. Lol I just wish Apple would continue to offer support for older product especially when there’s nothing wrong with the products. They literally last forever if you care for them. (My iPhone 4 still works beautifully-just can’t update it at all. I use it when I travel.)

I have an iPhone 6 and just got a new battery last year at a chain here called ‘fixoids’. There are tons of little local shops, too. Now my battery lasts forever. I thought you would have already tried that route or I would have suggested it. I would definitely recommend trying to find a fix it place. Unless you’re ready to drop $400+ on the new se. It is a small phone, too, though. Here’s the size in relation to my kindle paper white. Pony brush for size, too. ;)

As @MegaLeafeon pointed out, many people are happy with their Samsung phones. I know lots of people who like them and they are definitely cheaper. I’m an Apple only person ever since google burned me and my little brother says that Apple is more than worth it for security alone. That’s just my personal opinion and I trust my little brother’s opinions completely.

That is the most annoying thing about Apple, my old iPod 2 still works awesome but I can’t update it so none of the apps work right  I just use it for music sometimes. It would be nice if they supported old devices but I guess that’s how they make their money

I’m gonna try it now since Best Buy won’t, but I didn’t like the idea of some random company opening up my phone ^^; lol I get kinda attached to my devices I guess (Which is why I don’t wanna get the new se or the 12 mini which the employee also suggested). Oh and your brother is right about the security! Apparently it’s almost impossible for an iPhone to be infected by viruses too
I like that you put a pony brush for size ref too :lolpony: I actually have no idea what size kindles are so the comparison would tell me nothing without the brush :D

I thought of that just before and that’s the brush I keep by my seat on the couch. It’s my favorite to use, lol. I was hesitant about having someone random open my phone, too. That’s why I went with the chain... I don’t know how far fixoids goes in terms of location. They gave me a full year warranty on the battery itself, were reasonably priced, fast, and they garaunteed their work. I was very pleasantly surprised by them.
