Hello everyone! This is my first entry in this forum, today I did a purchase that included G1 1982 Butterscotch, Snuzzle and a few G2 ponys. The person also showed me the following baby pony that I usually see on ebay for $90 (average) and its Baby Blue Belle (Argentinian) but always in good conditions. Now, the one I'm gonna be showing you in these pictures looks very bad.

Anyways, I wanna know your real thoughts on how much would you pay for this Argentinian Baby Blue Belle in the conditions from the pictures since I'm clueless on what to do!.

Poor little baby! Send your thoughts and prayers also haha ♥

1) UPDATE 11/06/2021

Hey, I'm coming today with my first update on the destiny of this pony. First of all, thank you everyone for the nice feedback I recived in my first post in this forum. Baby Blue Belle might have a second chance, with her rusty hair and faded body with no symbols or eyes she may end lucky after all, what do you think?
I did a fair offer and got her. I recived her last monday 7th of June and I'm sorry I did not update earlier this week, I've been busy and wanted to take nice pictures of the baby for the update.

Besides her condition she has all real hair, which is rusty, she doesn't have any bites or missing parts of the body, it's not deformed and the head is moving and functioning. It sounds like there's a lot of dirt inside of her, which is probably because of the metal holder for the tail.

Wish me luck with the restoration process, it is going to be long and challenging but I'm up to it. Any advice beforehand is welcomed.

I asked the previous owner about the history of this pony, I was curious because the other ones she sold me didn't look like this. They were completely fine. The woman told me, that all the pony's she sold to me were from her when she was a child, her mother got all of them in different trift stores and garage sales throwout the years. But the story for this pony is different, she was found, again by her mother in an abandoned house, can you belive that?.
This adds a lot of mistery to her, I don't really know from who she was before, she has been sitting on the outside for a long time and kept like this anyway for probably 20 years, maybe more. And after all she is going to have a new chapter. Sorry If I made the post very profound haha, I'm just too happy about giving her a second chance.

I'm gonna keep an update on the restoration if you're interested too, for me it is great to start being part of a community that showed interest in my first post! thank you for reading, hope you are all well and stay safe, let's see when is the next update.

:star:FINAL UPDATE!!!!! 14/08/2021:star:

Hello everyone, after two months of no update for this post, I decided to come back with the finish result. First of all the restoration process was too long. I admit trying a few things and resisted my self to the idea of repainting the pony. I avoided that at all costs. Yet Eyes and Symbols had to be redone but that was obvios. For the discoloring body it was 1 month of suntan and Uv light Exposure, I did that lot's of times. like probably every day, and the result is quite okay in my view I don't think anything else could be done.
These are the pictures of the before and after results:

Finally I'm gonna leave a video i made about the whole restoration process in case you wanna check (I had classical musical to make it enjoyable haha)

Poor baby.

Oh yikes! What happened to the poor baby?
I have no idea what I would pay for her though, not much since she’s missing her symbol, some hair plugs and paint on her eyes

Welcome to the MLPTP!!

I’m not the right person to ask as I don’t collect variants. But I certainly would pay a lot for a pony in this condition, she is found to require a lot of intervention to restore including sun fading. So it will be a lengthy process to get her looking good again.

I would say no more than $40usd in this condition. However, I personally wouldn’t pay more than $5 for any pony like this. (I am notoriously cheap though.)

Poor baby looks like she has been through a few floods :O I just purchased a bundle of g1 ponies that need a LOT of work which I am already beginning to regret. I paid $5au each. I wouldn't pay more than that for baby bluebelle either personally.

I was talking with the person who sold me the other ponies and I asked if she had more, not in good condition ponys for costumization and she told me about this pony and warned me about the fact that it has been sitting outside in some sort of shelves exposed to the weather for years.
First of all I was not expecting it to be a baby and never a variant!

Thank you! I think exactly the same, I always see this pony on ebay for over $90 and again,, IN GOOD CONDITIONS so it was very difficult for me to decide if buying it and if it's worth anything at all for me to spend. Due the restoration process it needs, I think it is a pony that you might want for a personal collection but It would never be worth as other Argie babies in better condition. There is a part of me that wants to buy it to give it life again, it looks so sad :(

It has been left outside for years, the owner didn't even want to show me at first since it looks terrible. Personally in my case I can pay $5 - $9 for a pony that has original hair (donesn't matter if it is a little shorter) and only needs little restoration like sun fading pen marks or highlighter some body deformation and dirty. If it needs rerooting and repainting both body/eye/symbol I would pay even less...

I would not pay more than 5-10.00 with the intention of it being a restoration challenge for my own collection. If you were looking to restore and resell, I think the level of repair you would have to do on this one would be too high for someone looking to purchase an original argie. They'd basically be purchasing a customized pony but if you want to save her from doom and restore her for yourself, I say go for it!

In this case I didn't even think about reselling due it's condition! But I think at this point we all agree that less than $10 even less than $5, which was my initial thought. I didn't want to make an offer for it since I was not sure it's real worth at this point. Babies for me are always expensive based on my internet research and that always confuses me. Didn't want to scam neither buy an overpriced pony.

You could make a small but fair and honest offer and the person can say yah or nay. And than either way, it would be an OK outcome. If you got her you would have the challenge of restoring the pony for your collection, but either way you would have offered to rescue her. Hopefully that makes sence.

I have no problems with rehairing, but scmooze and sunfading are driving me batty lol

I'm thinking the same as you, I'm contacting the person tonight! At first I was so unsure about the price I didn't even talk about it with the actual owner! I'm also asking for a little backstory about this pony and keep an update in this post since It is going to be a challengue for me!!!

Did you rescue the poor baby pony?
Hello! I just updated the post if you wanna check, I don't know if i did right with that, but I just wanted to keep it organized since I'm probably updating again. There's a little background of the pony in the new update, thank's for reminding me too!!! Loved seeing your comment!!

It doesn’t notify us when you update the pre-existing post. Her backstory is pretty interesting and hopefully her hair stays intact. Such a crazy amazing find! I can’t wait to see how her restoration turns out.

Very interesting back story and I hope you have fun and learn a lot in restoring her. Even with a wash she is going to feel and look a lot better! This group is amazing in giving advice or pointing you in the direction of websites that will help you in restoring her :)

Maybe if you update the first post than pop a msg to say it is Updated? I'm not sure the best way to stay organised and to make sure the story is shared, but I'm sure others can provide advice.

I did think she looked a bit abandonedy-housey and it’s great you got the backstory to confirm it.
Hope the clean up goes well!

I've seen a lot of posts here that have helped me before with restoration! I experiment a lot. Now I'm in the middle of a restoration for a 2G Magic Motion Ivy but I'm probably starting next week with Baby Blue Belle!...

I'm going to post something over here when there's an update. I wonder if I post something without a "reply" do you recive a notification? Or i need to "reply" in order for you to get notified?

Yes I thought the same before and she's been like that for a long time, now she'll get a second chance haha
