G5 G5 Chatter

Honestly, I think the webisode style is cute. I knew the CGI wasn't going to be a permanent fixture. I think it's just because everything we've seen from G5 has been so stylistically different; once we get used to it and get more exposure to it I have faith it'll look more natural. I can't wait! At the very least, I'm excited to see more with the characters.
The actual show is still going to be 3D. This is just a little spinoff type thing. I'm not sure why they needed to go this route for the artstyle, though. The 2D style they've been using for G5 looks just fine.

I misread. Forgive me  I'm with you there though. I don't mind it so I'm not particularly critical, but considering they do already have a 2D style for this gen, what prompted the change, I wonder? Either way, I look forward to giving it a chance!

which game we talkin? i only played the pc game best friends ball & many of the flash games lol i enjoyed them tons. never played the DS game

also.. that 2D style.. ehh, it's cute but once i saw the mouths moving it felt too much like the art styles i see on so many cartoons lately lol for once i strongly prefer CGI :rolleyespony:
It was on the GBA

The Polly Pocket like playsets are rather cute.

Honestly, while I'm personally not a huge fan of either, I prefer the 2D for the show to the one we had before because it already looks more expressive and alive if that makes sense. A lot of the 2D art they had before was traced 3D models and not the most...flattering. Looked rather soulless to me.

Also, has anyone seen Rocking Ranger Hitch Trailblazer in stores anywhere?
Actually, I was just wondering the same thing. As of tonight I have all of the Mane 5 in that particular toy lineup except for Rockin’ Ranger Hitch, and I haven’t seen him available anywhere online or in stores. Then again, my Walmart just today put out Unicorn Charms Izzy, so maybe it’s just a matter of waiting a bit longer…

Hopefully soon.

I wonder if Petites, Tiny Tins, and Blindbags will fit in the Polly Pony Pocket playsets?

It seems there's more then one new character in those Polly Pocket playsets. Hopefully they'll get normal sized toys as well. I think I see Gargoyle pony in there.

Hello friends!! With all the excitement of a new dawn of the MLP franchise we've decided to make an official chatter forum.

This is where we can all discuss G5 while we all await the new movie, show and inevitable toys and merch that are yet to come. Please remember to keep all discussion at a "G" rated level and be kind and courteous to one another.

**Please keep this board for chatter only. If you wish to see new toys and general updates please proceed here:

Woah! I did enjoy the movie! Can’t wait to see the cartoon series! :3

We now know that G5 will continue as a Netflix exclusive series. Today Hasbro’s official MLP Instagram released the look for the webisodes slated to release on YouTube on April 5th.

(As always discuss below but please remember to be kind to one another. Everyone has their own opinions on designs and animation styles and we are all entitled to our opinions. All we ask is we all remember there are people on the other side of the screen and to remember to be respectful of others. <3 )
Omg

The Rockin' Ranger Hitch is the 6" one, right? I just got the 3" poseable one from Target.com and he's really cute!

Between this set, the 6" Hitch, and his name (trailblazer), he seems like more of a forest ranger pony than a sheriff. Which fits in with his animal friends too.

Dunno how big he is, but yup that's the big one, with the flocked mane.

In the world of magazines again, G5 seems to continue being on the covers. It must get rather boring though seeing the same few poses everywhere (look at the Sparkle World magazine behind) but my most favourite thing about the actual magazines themselves continues to be the back cover. Comparing the 2D art to the new cartoon style, Hitch looks MUCH more horselike
