Let us see all those Nice Neutral ponies we have!
(Browns, Creams, Grays, Blacks)

I included a huge picture of many different ponies spanning cornflower, white-gray, lavender gray, white lilac, white with silver swirls all over, periwinkle, and I still forgot to include my Octavia and Aurora Mist! Gray is a harmonious neutral, so in that spirit let's all try to get along in the classy, laid back act of inclusion, and photograph ponies we might not have never thought of as gray before! Suddenly, Sweet Stuff isn't *lacking* any of the intense sky blue of Wind Whistler, she is *including* another color! So go back and look at your blues and your lavenders: The first release of G3 Rainbow Dash was much more subdued, and original G1 Minty? Her mane is gray! So be creative, and sensitive, and see what ya got!

Also, I apologize for my photos not having a fun background. I have fun backgrounds, but need to clean before I mess with them. Look at the label under each of my photos to see the theme- of course many ponies appear more than once....but you won't find Cotton Candy, Firefly, or Pinkie Pie!

I adore grey ponies and love how you have included so many different ones to be version of grey. Who is the G2 that is white with grey detailing?

Princess Silverswirl! @OctoberMoon she came out at the same time as Princesses Twinkle Star and Crystal, but I never saw her in Target. If I had seen her I would have started with G2 waaaay back in 1999 :Princesssparkle::snuzzle::streaky: In the CGI commercials on YouTube, you can see her with a long tail, like a lion, and I think split/cloven hooves. She is a heraldic, white on white uni! <3:D:lolpony:

I’m pretty sure she was a French release. The bulk of the g2 line was in France according to a French seller that is not on the mlptp Considering the proximity of the UK to France, I wouldn’t be surprised to find that people in the USA refer to a French release as UK. Unless you are a hardcore completionist collector.

I'm pretty sure she was Europe/UK release. Even UK McDonald's had her, and she was in the English comics. 1999 was the year they started discluding ponies from America only (according to spell check I just made up a new word there, unless they are just discluding it!). :hmph:

On mylittlewiki it says that Princess silver swirl was the only princess released twice, one USA, and one UK. The McDonald’s pony and baby swirly are both UK exclusive.

@Tak she was *not* released in the U.S.! no way! I don't know where you looked it up, but keep in mind that mylittlewiki has their dates wrong, it claims that Moon Shadow, Tipsy Tulip, Princess Twinkle Star, Princess Crystal, Princess Trixiebell, long haired Ivy and her Pretty Parlor, and even Dainty Dove were not released in the U.S., but they were-I *saw* them in the stores. Dainty Dove even has different accessories in the U.S. than Europe (different veil). We had no unicorns in the U.S., even Silverswirl. I know I was only in one state, but I'm pretty sure I figured they would eventually release her here even though Dream Valley said "so far she is only available in Europe." Well we all know how that ended up. :rolleyespony: I saw Princess Crystal and thought "does this mean that there is a wizard pony that is going to talk about magical unicorns, but the unis themselves aren't even ponies?" and so I held out on buying...and then they were just gone.

And it is totally normal to not know all about the G2s; Until a few years ago, I had no idea they had continued all the way until 2003! That's seven years, which means every generation has had a really long run (go ponies!). G3s also lasted seven years.

But a basic rule of G2s is that no unicorns were available in the U.S., and the only winged pony was Twinkle Star. Silversirl's second release was not of a different geography, it was a different version of the pony: her horn lit up and she came with a baby. Some people consider Magic Star Swirl and Diamond Glow to be versions of Silverswirl based on their designs, but they are not princesses.

Speaking of designs-G2 ponies had "rump designs" instead of symbols or "cutie marks" at least as far as what Hasbro called them.

And to stay on topic: Silver Glow is the gray one! Even if one would rather call her "light blue," her mane is actually silver, not white!

"Frost Gray" came out a lot differently on Windy than Basic Fun Gingerbread, and looks purple (to me) on the Chief I used for the Big Brother. Here's a small G1 Luminary army-basically all the boy poses :chief:. The TE and BB are rerooted with much more skill than the unicorn. :majesty:

If there was a white Gingerbread pose pony that didn't have twinkle eyes or involve deflocking I would try my hand at a horizontal haired "Daddy" pony. Maybe someday I'll actually paint one :ROLO:...maybe.

Also, isn't that background the ugliest pillow?? I know!
