Hi everyone!

I'm looking to commission an artist for a Shy Pose/Bowtie Pose Snuzzle, maybe as a birthday gift to myself. Since I have collector's pose Bowtie and Snuzzle, and plan on getting the U.S. release of Bowtie that is in the Shy Pose, I thought it would be fun to have a Shy Pose Snuzzle as well, and it would be a nice addition to my little Snuzzle army. :snuzzle::snuzzle::snuzzle:

If you're interested or know someone who could do it and is taking commissions, let me know in a comment or PM and we can chat :D

Also I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place, I wasn't sure where to put a call for a custom commission!

I don't have experience with dyeing ponies, so I'm not your gal, but I love this concept. Snuzzle seems like she'd be adorable in the shy pose, and I love seeing alternate pony poses.

This might seem obvious, but I'll say it anyway: I think Sundance is going to be your best bet for a base pony. Easy to find, and white for an easy color change. Again, I've never dyed ponies before, so I don't know that you'd be able to keep the original mane intact, but if you could, Snuzzle and Sundance do have the same mane. Saves some trouble!

I agree, Sundance would be a great base. From what I've seen, if you're using rit dyemore, there's a good chance the hair will dye too. You can save the tail at least!

Littleponyguru would know, they dye ponies pretty frequently.

Yeah, makes sense. I've been experimenting with extracting the mane whole for reuse, but it's an inexact science and I'm never able to salvage ALL of the hair. Plus then you've got to root it back in, so while it saves a bit of money, it doesn't save time.

Could you maybe block off the roots of the hair with painters tape and the hold the pony by the hair to dip her in the dye? That way the hair doesn’t go in at all. I haven’t tried this or anything, just a thought :)

the pony needs to sit in the dye for a bit of time, 15 mins or so (At least by my experience to get a nice deep color). I don't see a way to save the mane entirely from getting dyed, I think no matter what, the root parts will get dyed regardless even if you protect it as best as you could. I don't think vasaline would save the hair either- but worth a try?

I think in the end is to save the tail for future projects and re-root the hair.

I mean, Snuzzle is a lighter color. Maybe if you dye the hair after the body the pink will show okay? Depends how dark the mane would go in the body dye bath.

I agree, Sundance would be a perfect base. I have a baity Sundance, though I don't have a whole lot of experience to try a comission out of her.

You could certainly try it. But like @DracoKat said, the deeper the color the longer it will have to set. You also risk an uneven color if you don't submerge completely or at different times than the body.

Yeah good point, probably not the best technique

I could try one for you too...I have a bait ss Sundance that I could deflock completely. I prefer dye to paint but have done both, and it would be fun to try to get a nice grey Snuzzle for sure....although @Skybreeze does awesome customs (I love everything I've seen!)
Thank you so much! I PM'd Skybreeze about the possibility but will also keep you in mind and take a look at your stuff :D
