G5 G5 Chatter

These figures feel more complete with painted hooves. Shame about the brushables not getting their painted hooves. I’ll keep telling myself it’s still early in to G5 and maybe they’ll end up painting the hooves for brushables down the line
I think so too! I do hope that they will make improvements like more painted details over time (still trying to be positive).
It's a shame that two of the main characters have leg markings and most of their toys don't have those markings.
I don't think I've seen the meet the mane five collection. Or I forgot. They look nicer that way.
I think that this set is an Amazon Exclusive.

Oh those!

My Walmart finally has new MLP stock in. They had all the Hoof to Heart sets (except Hitch of course), two of the Mini World sets (Zephyr Heights w/Pipp & Bridalwood w/Izzy), the big Mini Worlds set of Maretime Bay and the big set with Pipp, Sunny and Sparkaroni.

Because I already had the Hoof to Heart sets on order with Amazon, I only picked up Izzy because she was sold out. But I’m happy to see at least some brushable hair on these figures now.

I will take more photos when my others arrive.

Who is the cute pink unicorn behind the big Moonbow?

Target's got a set with Sparkerooni in it for a little cheaper! I coulda sworn I saw another, even smaller and cheaper one... I'll have to check after work tomorrow. It might not be on the website yet. Or I might just be misremembering.

(I also love how it looks like Hitch is imprisoned and the others are just silently judging him. Free Him

Oh, ew, it's one of those where the cardboard packaging is the playset... Looks like even if you get the bus out you'll still have the advertising on the back of it. It would have been such a cute playset too.

I didn’t look at that since I only want the critters. It’s a new level of cheap… is it good that it’s recyclable or bad since it’s not made to last? Hmm…

I personally dont mind the cardboard set! It seems like a fun way to use packaging and as a kid I would have liked the craft aspect. I really like the more eco friendly aspect too, since even if we like to collect things, it probably is better for us in the long run to have less plastic. I think this set is probably meant to be more about the toys rather than the playset background anyway. :)

The set would be more expensive with a plastic smoothie truck. I think the cardboard truck is a nice extra. Most boxes just get tossed immediately, it's nice that this one has some play value. Kind of like those Hairdorable dolls where their box folded out to be a backdrop.

I haven't seen this set in person yet . . . I did see the Mini World Magic sets at Walmart but they didn't have the ones I was looking for (the small sets with Pipp and Hitch.)

My Target has literally gotten rid of its entire MLP section. It's specific to THAT TARGET, too. Like if I travel to the one in the next town they have a pony section. But my Target is convinced that Rainbow High dolls are the only toy a child could ever want.

Very limited, though. A kid plays with it a couple of times, the wheels get crunched, it doesn't stand up anymore and they can't put their ponies in it. Then it's done, it's the last of that. I agree with making things more eco-friendly, but there has to be something better than this.

As for the price, I think some of that is down to the margins they're choosing to take, rather than solely the cost of making the product. They're a business trying to make money, first and foremost, and I don't buy that they're some "good guy company" who isn't trying to rake in as much profit as they can possibly get away with. Especially not when they love overpriced blind boxes so much. I think they could include a proper truck and keep the price even somewhat reasonable if they wanted to.

I definitely like seeing the packaging less wasteful. We always played with or found uses for bigger cardboard boxes throughout my life. (Best forts ever!)

Very good point. Especially with the environmental impact and the rising costs of… well, everything, it does show some creative repurposing.

Sadly, I have seen more kids (under 15) that have such an excessive amount of stuff, that they would set it aside before it got crunched. (Honestly, it’s ludicrous how much just stuff kids have <even my own>)
