Ponies you didn't like, that won you over

Ohhh actually now that im thinking im gonna add one more! I remember back in the 90s as a lil child, i always was on the look out for ponies at flea markets and yard sales. I knew what was a real g1 by the eyes. I mean i had plenty of fakies too but i still could tell what was genuine.

So, one day we were at a yardsale and my mom found a Teeny Tiny Baby Tabby in a box. She said how cute it was, showed it to me and i was so confused bc genuine eyes but I thought it looked like a troll   I told her I didnt want it but she knew better and bought her anyway. I still have her and loovvvvee my baby Tabby <3 <3

Nice save, Mum! No pony left behind!

Also, G1 Applejack killed the wizard to free the blind ponies. She, just, killed him. Kick him into the deepest pit in the mine. He was sitting on a throne of magical crystals and gems that shattered upon impact and granting the blind ponies their twinkle eyes.
Wow! I knew Applejack was a rump-kicker!!
Is all this from the comics, or the tv show?

I like a little dark instead of duper happy positive. It is much more real.

Secerts out on my favorite murder pony. :applejack:

It was more like she blundered into him.

I can't believe I forgot them when first replying to this thread, but So Soft ponies! I never wanted one because I assumed they'd be really gross to touch, but then I got a Shady in almost perfect condition and now I love them! Still super picky about flocking condition though lol

Princess Pristina. I thought she was hideous when I got her second hand. She was uh, “well-loved”. Had a buzzcut, sharpie marks, bobbed tail and a ton of glitterglue/nail polish painted all over her.
Once I restored her entirely I was like “oh wow you’re not uggo, you were just gross!”

All of the G5s.. Most of the toys they make of them look a bit off or just cheap, but I got Princess Pipp for my birthday and I've loved her ever since because she was gifted to me by a close friend :satisfied:

every gingerbread pose pony haha. i always thought they were creepy and their heads/snouts were too short and like reptile-like? but honestly, i think theyre cute now! they look really sweet in a silly kinda way <3

A lot of people say that! Which is odd, cos I have always loved this pose XD

year 3 rainbow ponies. the colors looked weird in pictures. the coral was too soft and the yellow was too bright, almost lime green. it didnt look like a rainbow to me, just a mish mash of colors. but then i found confetti at goodwill, and the colors somehow looked so harmonious. it actually looked like a little rainbow once i curled the tail.

I was the same way. How could they call them rainbow ponies when their manes were plain multi-colored? I didn't like Tickle as much as I'd thought and sold her, but Trickles otoh. Wow is she pretty and spring time! And that copper glitter? *chef's kiss*

My list:
Hula Hula-I thought she was tacky, dull and clashy. A photo on eBay changed my mind.

Baby Frosting-Most BBEs are creepy and ugly. I grabbed her and found she was rather cute in person. The rest are still creepy.

Pretzel-I initially bought her for my daughter, but she didn't want her afterwards and she started growing on me. Even if her colors are way overdone and orange isn't my favorite.

Izzy Moonbow-She was meant to be a custom and her toon model has creepy human lips. She's prettier ip, and has the best mane and tail sculpt to go along with gradient hair colors.

Curlylocks-I thought she was boring. My bf pestered me into buying her. She's really quite pretty.

Sea Breeze-I thought the whole set was tacky, but gave her a chance and her vibrant hues are neon-tastic, and I likes neon.

Baby Surprise-She was supposed to be for a custom. She had the audacity to be too cute and made me fall in love with her. I still don't care for that pose though.

Hidden Treasure-My daughter has her, I thought she was boring. I have no idea what made me change my mind.

Queen Haven-She was going to be a custom, but her colors are pretty.

Dazzle Feather-I don't usually like this color scheme, (Forsythia, Rapunzel, Baby Hokey Pokey etc.) but she's got other colors that mix harmoniously, and a roaring 20s vibe.

Wildflower (Childhood pony)-I did not like or appreciate her as a child and thought she looked weird. I would like to have her back now.

Wigwam-Not crazy about his color scheme, but love his symbol and accessories. He grew on me.

Minty (G1)-I got the blind box Loyal Subject, and she is cute. Reminds me of Irish spring soap.

Trickles-Already mentioned above.

Toola Roola (original)-She flew under my radar as just okay. Then I saw her in person and her colors are lovely.

Baby Pink Sunsparkle-I never liked her. Somehow, she found her way into a trade bunch that I picked up at the swap meet.(Dunno how? I had no intention of buying her for trade.) And worked her way into my heart. Brat.

Seascape-Orange. Eh. Someone's photo. Wooow! Had to have.

Round n Round-I ignored her, thinking she had 2 clashy colors and a prize ribbon symbol. Reminded me of a darker version of Sky Rocket. Everything changed when I found out she was a ferris wheel pony. And ip discovered she has 3 vibrant hair colors. Fell in love.

Sunny Starscout-She came packed in the Royal Gala set. Was meant to be a custom, but she has the best face sculpt and a certain appeal, despite the overused colors.

Yum Yum (flutter pony)-I thought she was tacky. I debated on her later, and fell in love with her in hand.

Honeysuckle-I bought one to customize, she's actually pretty cute. I'll pick up a nicer one later.

Princess Sterling-I ignored her at the store, but later decided her colors were pretty, and Ology was kind and traded.

G2s in general. The first ones I ever saw were the weird neck ones, and the plug tail ones, so my initial dismay was completely justified. I've got 1. Unfortunately, Eve, Copper Glow, Lady Waterfall, and Princess Crystal are out of my personal budget. So she'll remain lonely, unless I come across an exceptionally lucky find.

G5s in general. They're still kinda weird looking and I wish they had better horse heads, but they've grown on me.
