“Blind” Pretty Pony

Hello!
I just got a lovely pretty pony from a fellow collector today and she’s nearly blind from grime!
Does anyone have recommendations for cleaning the eyes? I’ve never worked on a PP before, so I’m looking for some advice. I’ve looked at MLP preservation project, but it didn’t mention technique or product.

It's difficult to tell on the photo, but is it dirt or the protective film coming off the eye? Either way you should be able to clean fairly easily with q-tips and hot water with dish soap in it. Or you can try some acetone on a q-tip as well. But it shouldn't be too difficult. Congratulations on your newest addition! She looks lovely and complete!

It is a pretty gross build up that looks almost like lime
Thank you so much for the advice! I’ll start with soap and move up to acetone.
yes, she’s lovely otherwise!! Nearly complete ( need a brush and ribbons) and came with the box and instruction! I am beyond excited to have her!
Her other eye is worse

Oh dear. Ya, I would definitely say maybe use and old toothbrush too to really get a good scrub on the really gross eye there.
