Back in April I got a fabulous Easter swap box from @skig . She slipped two packets of pansy seeds in there. We’ve had the strangest weather this year and my hands have been glitchy, but I have been faithfully taking care of my little pansy sprouts. Yesterday, one finally bloomed! :ponylove: Pansies are my favorite flower. The little sprout behind has two buds getting ready to open, too! Thank you again Skig! These little flowers have made me so happy!

Pretty

Beautiful colour, I LOVE pansies! They were my gran's (who I grew up with and whom I adored) favourite, so whenever I see pansies I think of her. :ponylove: Needless to say I also sowed a wild variety in spring, but unfortunately only a few tiny ones sprouted.

My mom crocheted a set of pansy doilies from thread for me when I was tiny. Somehow she must of known that purple would be my favorite color. I'm hoping to frame the doilies for r a Christmas present to myself.

They really did win first place a decade later.

Look at your lovely flowers & embroidery <3 glad to see the pansies are doing so well during the summer season :)
What a sweet gift.
I wish I could have a little indoor garden of sorts. Plants do not flourish under my care ^-^;

Yeah I’m not too good with plants either ^^; I keep trying though

I've managed to keep exactly one succulent alive for four years, but I think it's just some kind of super plant. It's finally starting to look a little done with life though

Aww hopefully it perks up soon!! I had a Christmas cactus once (technically my dad just got it free from a coworker as a decoration and was gonna throw it out after Christmas so I claimed it lol) that lived for like three years but when we moved I think it didn’t get enough sun and died shortly after :/ It’s always disappointing when they die after so long

Oooh cacti are so awesome, esp free ones ;)
So sorry that it died from unavoidable circumstances
I'm sure I'll be broken up about it when my little plant does die.
I'd get a cactus except that I have a cat and while she's very smart, I don't want her to get pricked even once.

My mom's got a degree in ornamental horticulture, so I've got that ace in the hole. I don't do well with plants in general. I had to study my mother's textbooks on what each plant likes. She wants all these pretty plants in my yard (she's my landlord), and I'm so much better at killing them the keeping them alive. My hibiscus was demolished by a raccoon that jumped on it and literally broke it down the middle. It did the same to my Daphne, but that was low enough that lots of duct tape and loving attention saved it. Mint, lemonbalm, barley, and poppies, grow like crazy and smell great when mowed. Heather is one of my favorites as it blooms multiple times a year and all I had to do was water it the first year. Stick in the ground and it grows is my style of plant. ;)

What an cool degree! Maybe she could help with the plants if she wants a bunch more of them? No, bad raccoon, bad!! Duct tape, really?? Those are all wonderful flowers & herbs, not to mention the aromas:ponylove: I'd love to see your magical garden :star:<3:star:
I live in an apartment complex so no flowers in my view! My cousin in Oklahoma has a green thumb, she has an incredible talent for it. I think the humidity there helps as well.

I'll try to get some pictures to send you. ;)

That’s pretty cool that she can give you advice on what to do for them :D
Can I ask how you fixed a plant with ductape?
I have some irises and tiger lilys in my yard and I like that they grow back every year without me having to do anything! They just came with the house:satisfied:

Thanks, I do still have a little one that’s a clipping from it so it’s like it’s little baby plant, it’s still pretty tiny though so no flowers. I hope yours gets better instead though <3
I don’t think the flowers are good for cats, but Christmas cacti aren’t spiky so they wouldn’t get pricked :)

Christmas cacti are great. I have one, but no blooms right now.

As for the duct tape... the branches of the bush got split down the center. Since it was still alive and both sides were thick enough, I just taped it so the live inner part of the branches were held together. Much in the same way that a cut on a person gets held together by stitches so the tissues inside can heal. They actually make a special glue you can use on plants to hold them while they heal. My mom's old school and I had duct tape handy (I always have duct tape handy), so I taped it up. This was less than a year ago, so the tape is still on there. I'll take it off if it doesn't fall off in spring.

Oh wow I didn’t know you could repair them like that! Good job saving it :D (I also always have ductape handy lol)
