A Horse Named ‘Regret’: A Long FINISHED Post

Wow, that looks brilliant, the 3D puffy paint looks to be a winner. I've never heard of a 3D pen though, interesting!

She’s looking great! Honestly puffy paint will be a staple in my pony restoration bin forever now. I very much like how well it works.
I’ve never used puffy paint until now but so far it seems like it may be something I’d go back to as well
Wow! What a transformation! I love how you were able to do the eyes so well!
I kept redoing parts of the eyes when doing them but I too was surprised how well they’d turned out

I’ve had my 3D pen for a couple of years. I mainly got it because my local art shop was closing and I saw the filaments in there (the colours you use for it) and mistook it to be the actual pen. I got it and when I realised, I had to buy one. I haven’t used it much over these years and I haven’t got the hang of it properly but when I do, maybe I’ll make my G3 Breezies some new antenna since they’ve lost theirs. It’s really just a pen you can sort of draw in 3D with

Maybe you could use the pen and draw them in 2d on greaseproof paper and than glue into place on the breezie's heads?

I'd like to have a 3D printer, but I'm thinking it will be a loooong time before I can justify it lol

I thought about doing that but I just need to get steadier with the pen before I try anything like that. I don’t want to mess up too much with the antenna
I remember the original antenna being easy to remove and put back because their heads are so squishy so I may not need glue if and when I do that. And that’s how little kid lost the antenna in the first place... removing them too much

So yesterday I was adding the final layer to her back, patching up some white parts and then it was time... to do the cutie mark. This was the part I was most looking forward to.
Here is her original design, her new cutie mark and the original Heart Bright one from My Little Wiki:

I imagine if she wasn’t a cutie cascade pony, she’d just have the heart with leaves version.
When I originally did it, the leaves were just light green but when I digitalised it for my pony collection checklist, I felt it needed something more. I looked at floral G3 ones and noticed quite a few leaves were half darker so I did that too and it’s looks much better. The cutie mark is based from Heart Bright’s but changed up a bit for Heart Break but with leaves added so it’s like a blooming flower, rebirth.

Her back is still rather flat and shes still a bit of a wonky donkey (let’s hope the other ponies don’t bully her and call her that in a mean way) but I’ve done all I can for it. Maybe if I feel I can round it off in future, I may, but I’m happy with her like this now. Her back is filled, smooth and level. Also... ponies can give her cuddles!

That’s Desert Rose who was with her when I finished her off. I had Desert Rose with me because I was trying to figure out how to create a hoof stamp to fill in the hole in her hoof but it didn’t go well. Her hoof still has a hole where the magnet was but I might just fill that in. I’d still call her finished now anyway. A few of my ponies have missing magnets anyway from little kid me so she’s not alone with that.

She fits in quite nicely with my other ponies. There’s Daffidazey who was also with her in parts of her journey and also got a new cutie mark last year too.

Heart Break is now a finished pony and I am quite pleased with how she turned out. My pony checklist booklet has backstories of all my ponies who I have in it and as I’m giving her a page too, I wrote her one as well.

“After a spell turned her into a dragon, she spent her days isolated from the rest of the ponies. One day, she felt the warmth of acceptance and friendship and the curse was lifted. HEART BREAK was reborn into a new pony!”

I tried to write it in the style of the other backcard stories... it sounds a little strange to me but some of them are anyway.

Thank you to everyone who followed her story and all the advice the TP has for ponies! I’m sure Heart Break has felt all the support here. It’s been really nice.

No matter how ruined they may be, regrettable customs can become something better! :winkpony:

I don’t plan to do another custom again.

I love the backcard story. She turned out great. It’s so cute with desert rose peeking over her back.

Oh my goodness! Good job!!!
(Obviously your choice but you're so good at customs, you don't have to stop doing them!)

Thank you! Having her back like that is good for pictures like the Desert Rose one

Thanks!
I only customised her because I felt she needed to go back into my collection but she just didn’t seem to fit as the dragon which ended up that way... none of my ponies are be fitting as a bait one and I don’t want to ruin anymore. I’m happy she turned out like this in the end though

WOW the transformation is insane. I loved following Heart Break's journey and you did a great job restoring her! The fact that ponies can give her cuddles now warmed my heart. Wonderful work!! <3

I meant to comment on this much sooner than now. But, she’s turned out simply beautifully and she’s certainly come a long way. Definitely a restoration you should be proud of.
I am very happy with how she’s ended up, thank you! She probably would've still had that hole in the back if I didn’t see your recommendation of the puffy paint. Huge thanks!
I’m so glad she doesn’t look like a messy dragon anymore and basically still had most of her body in tact and a full pony head
