Accidental Collections, Anyone?

Since my grandparents have passed I’ve recently inherited another camera from them that I didn’t even know they had or asked for.

First was a Kodak Brownie 127 (that I’ve posted on here before), then a Scamera before we knew it was a Scamera DL9000 (a fake camera filled with lead to scam people! I’ve made it safe now and taken it all apart to decorate) and now today I’ve been given a folding Coronet De Luxe.
Before all this I only had my own lovely red Samsung WB100 digital camera that I’ve had for… since 2013 or something like that. Wow, now I’ve just realised how long I’ve been using that thing for. Apart from that I mainly use my iPhone cameras though

This small camera collection was never intended. Does anyone have any other accidental collections they never intended to have? It got me thinking of the kinds of things people may have just ended up collecting without even realising it :Flutter:

I have some quarters somewhere from my grandma, she was collecting the 50 state prints that they started to put out.. Im not sure where i have them now, but i know i have them - i dont think i spent them, hope i didnt, but i was also like 11 when i got them, so who knows

I accidentally started a playing card collection. Some I rescued from my grandparents. Some from thrift stores. Some are gifts because now I'm the person who collects cards. Never short on cards now lol

Those seem like they’d make such a nice noise if shaken in a little bag or in your pocket. That sounds so cool! Were they shiny?

Playing cards can be so pretty. They’re literally little works of art some of them. I used to like the way Dynamo used to shuffle his cards, the magician

Those Beanie Boo mystery figurines! I dunno why, they just seem to stick to me. I like them, especially the molded-on tag.

Also, those generic gift-type items like mugs, socks, lotions, and bath kits. They're good for regifting, but I always seem to have a stockpile :p

These glass animal votive holders from Indiana Glass! It started with this turtle that I found in an abandoned house when I was younger and more adventurous. Now I pick them up whenever I see them at the thrift store- I have the turtle in both green and clear, a green frog, a yellow bird, and a clear kitten.

I only have Kiki the cat of those figures. I love Ty’s and was curious about the figures so I got one even though the Boo’s are not my thing. I do love that moulded tag though. I use her box to hold the packaging for my enamel pins
Socks. I have so many socks. And they’re all of the same brand and length so I don’t even have to find a pair to put on
That is actually a pretty clever idea, having them all the same. I have so many thick socks for winter and then never have enough thin ones for the summer

That’s cute! I bet they look wonderful when the light shines through

Other people's artwork. I always keep little things or drawings that people make for me. I like getting art from my friend's kids too :happyhearts:

That’s so nice, a little home art gallery! :ponylove:

Raccoons.
I played a raccoon human hybrid creature at a game once and everyone started to give me raccoon things.
I do love raccoons and have just accepted that they are my thing now, but it was never intended.

I love them so much T_T

Yes! Mine is Pony Related though!
I found out about the large G3 My Little Pony Bubble Bath bottles and thought they were so cool! I found some for sale at UK PonyCon for VERY very cheap and decided to pick them up on a whim! (They were like £5.00, much cheaper than the styling ponies and even larger!)
And now I have three, which isn’t that much? But this year I found someone selling off all of their Gen 3 merchandise and I’m an avid collector of ANYTHING which has Wysteria on! So uh, now I also have these bottles of G3 bubble bath! I have the Wysteria and Pinkie Pie one, yes they are still full! Never used. So now I accidentally collect G3 bath items? I was given one of the bath time G3 plushies as well when I was seen with the bubble bath containers and I just feel like I’m going to end up with lots of bath themed items, semi accidentally! I didn’t mean to specialise in collecting this! But here I am! One day I’ll get the Starcatcher and Rainbow Dash bubble bath containers and I’ll have a full set!

You can just about see them near the back on the bottom shelf! I have Pinkie Pie who has also never been opened! She still has the plastic wrap on her tail / tags and the metal wrap across the opening. It’s why she’s on the bottom shelf as it makes her rather heavy! Then we have Wysteria who came to me half full, which I emptied out! It still smelled amazing but the liquid was not a nice colour haha! Bon voyage to that! And finally Fluttershy who was thankfully very empty!

Here’s the Wysteria bubble bath bottle! Still full and with the little brush attached! I have a Pinkie Pie one as well! One of the more bizzare items in my collection for certain!

Just want to assure everyone I wouldn’t touch or use any of these extremely expired cosmetics!
