Anyone else take more care packing ponies for a move than your wedding china?

We recently did an out-of-state move. My pony-collecting kid was very anxious about transporting their MLP collection. Not only was it one of only 2 things we declared on our moving companies 'High Value Inventory Form', we also had to come up with custom packing solutions for a beloved flutter pony (which traveled on my child's lap in a plastic box). As you can see from the picture below, yarn was tied around each hoof and each piece was taped to cardboard to hold her steady. The overall cardboard was taped to the bottom of the plastic box. She made it safe and sound! Any other crazy stories out there?

I am pretty sure that "having to lightly treaten postal/moving people to make them care" is international wonder XD
Has heard of stickers proclaiming curse upon theft attempts.

My ponies moved into my house before we did. I had pneumonia when we moved and couldn’t pack them properly, so we roped in a couple of friends (another collector and her husband), moved my collection loose in boxes, and lined all the ponies up on built in shelving in the pony room closet a week before we moved ourselves. No worries about bent legs, broken wings, or anything going missing.

Fun fact: socks are great protective items to pack Summer Wing ponies in to keep their wings from bending.

when i moved in the spring my pony stuff took up half the space in the moving truck - and that wasn't even the ponies themselves, which came with me in my car. what really stressed me out was getting my original paradise estate box into the car too, since it was raining that morning...i threw a blanket over it and ran

when we moved just a month or so ago i was so careful with how i packed my ponies and merch stuff lol. 3 clear bins full and a bunch of cardboard boxes full of the stuff- everything was safe even though a backcard and my two so soft babies boxes dealt a very tiny bit of water damage from a storm we passed through on the way (thanks north dakota) :/ they're fine though, just dried up quick thankfully nothing more happened. i saved up a ton of packing material from stuff ive bought. it was incredibly useful and convenient

Flying home from the pony fair this summer, I went and bought a giant glass jar to carry my new Moon Jumper in. She went in my carry on but I was still very nervous about her wings for the entire flight. She ended up being just fine though!

I once packed my ponies, UK Schoolhouse, and Paradise Estate so carefully into boxes and tubs that I didn't wind up unpacking them again through two moves and around 13 years. I think in that time I rearranged the contents of the tubs once and made sure they had silica packets in them, but the Paradise Estate and the carefully wrapped So-Softs within stayed boxed until this year. I had forgotten how thoroughly and carefully I had wrapped and Tetris-ed all the PE pieces together. It probably would have been an interesting unboxing video if I'd thought to do it before unpacking it all. Everything came out safely! The worst effects were some bath-pony odors from a few, and some of the common ponies on the bottom of one especially dense tub got squash marks. :/
The Windy and Summer wings are still pretty resilient! My Cool Breeze came to me 20 years ago with one wing hanging on by the thinner layer of plastic, and it's still hanging on! I haven't decided on the best way to repair it yet.
I love hearing all the tender care these treasured old ponies get.
