I think I still have the CD of the game lying around somewhere. The old style of computer graphics are really charming to me haha, I wonder if I could figure out how to run it on a more recent computer? Maybe even find a way to extract the character models and play around with them and create some other ponies in the same style. I had a lot of fun with this game back in the day.

I had the Best Friends Ball game (still do somewhere) with this style graphics! With the G2 game Friendship gardens - I luckily have an old laptop from my childhood that runs windows 98 that’s currently a Friendship Gardens console haha but it’d for sure run my G3 game if I installed it. Tempting to see what assets could be ripped out of it, as I was able to get the soundtrack and some printable assets out of the files, and someone who did some deeper digging even found some screenshots in the game files of a beta version of the game which is wild!

that's really cool wow :O what were the printables like? Do you mean printable as in 3D print or 2D files? I don't have any older computers so I think I'll look into emulating windows XP or 98. Would you recommend trying out Friendship Gardens? I'd like to see it!

I remember one time seeing an account on tumblr that made really cool art with assets ripped from a g4 game. I should look for it later. I think the name was horseblob or something of that sort.

printable as in, print out activities on your home computer - the game files doesn’t have easy access to all the print-out content, there’s no colouring sheets, but there’s the print-out-and-cut village files just sitting there

ooh that’s interesting

i’d 100% recommend friendship gardens but it did literally define my childhood haha. I love old girls’ games though - Barbie as sleeping beauty was another fave of mine

Oh my gosh the old graphics  I don't think I ever played this one, but the old G3 games from the website were my whole childhood. The other day I saw that butterfly-gathering roller coaster minigame somewhere and it punched me in the face with nostalgia.

That's just activated something deep inside my brain haha that butterfly game omgggg that was on the mlp website right? You were on a rollercoaster with a net and the different coloured ones were worth different points? What a throwback

I have this game for one of my handheld systems. I think it's in a drawer somewhere. There was a time in my life where everything MLP was purchased even if it would not be used.

It is still that time for me haha, same with Disney Princess and Monster High. Slap that branding on and you can sell me anything

Having a kid has changed my hoarding habits significantly.

I didn't even know that existed, that sounds amazing! has it been archived anywhere? if not then that's a real shame I would have loved to see it preserved. I can't say I know very much about the wayback machine and how all of that stuff works though

With 26 fast approaching people are asking me A LOT when I’m gonna spawn a mini-me but yeah, where the heck would I store another person when I have so much pony storage

Unfortunately as it was a web based flash game I doubt it’s archived anywhere unless Hasbro keep a record of all their old web pages, but even if they do, it was flash based so it won’t run sadly. The beauty of the cd rom games is they’re physical and more easily preserved than web games. Lost media is both an interest of mine and a big source of anxiety lol - I hate how much vintage internet is lost to the void

You say that but I have a standalone Adobe Flash Player that can still run the games with out internet. Which means that if you can get a hold of the game's SWF file you could still play the game. Only problem is I don't remember where I got the program besides it's an official Adobe thing.

Oh wow, how does one go about getting one of those? I'd love to play old flash games still!

that sounds promising, I'd love to investigate that when I get home!! I hope someone thought to preserve it

I remember downloading it from the Adobe website but it seems they've taken it down, but I found where someone uploaded it onto webarchive.

Just gonna mention that you need to leave it in the downloads folder for it to work, as I couldn't get it to work if I try to put it any where else.

Hopefully you guys can find the SWF file for the game uploaded somewhere.

That’s amazing thank you

I've seen a few websites/software that seem to have an archive of flash games and other content. I've seen some things for g4 but not this, would anyone know what the name of the game described was? I will continue looking but it would be helpful if I had better keywords

What websites have you found because I have a few I couldn't get a hold of before Flash died.

pretty sure it was Butterfly Island (something or other)

I so want these models in a 3D printable format, but I have neither the game nor the knowledge to extract them from it.
