Are all G3s shimmery (except white), and if so....

Are all the G3 ponies made of a shimmery plastic except the white ones? I'm doing a series that I want to be uniform, and all but one have a base color of white. I don't want that odd one to be shimmery and the rest matte.

Now...this odd one will be dyed pure black. Will the shimmer show? (My guess is yes...)

Any help?

Nope, Bubblecup, Wishawhirl, Garden Glade, Cupcake, those are all flat/matte ponies with no shimmer. I bet if you dyed a shimmer pony, the shimmer would still show through, although I am not 100% sure.

the ponies that have shimmery plastic will show their shimmers through dye, but not paint, and paint will give you a more opaque black anyway. but there are plenty of matte ponies, especially with the butterfly island releases. almost all of the single BI ponies are matte.

Shimmer does show through black dye, I've got one already in black (who needed the shimmer, in hindsight).

alot of the newer ponies are shimmer free. The Shimmers (Um daft hasbro!!) and Dazzles, and others have no sparkly bits in the plastic.

Or, on the really expensive end, you could order a Pony Project NYC pony, who I believe (someone correct me?) is matte, and also already black. She's $20... ponytopia.com has a link to order her. :)

I'd like to add I have a Sparkleworks dyed black and she sure is sparkly. Her hair took to the black but not her tinsel so it looks awesome.
