Are There Any My Pretty Pony Customs?

Would it be wrong to make customs out of such an important part of MLP history?

As someone new to these forums, I'm unsure what people's thoughts on casting are, but when compared to ruining such a rare pony, maybe it would be a better idea to make a mould of the original to make customs with instead? It would be super tricky with the internal mechanisms, but I'd be fascinated to see someone attempt such a feat, as it would allow for the creation of giant versions of people's favorite ponies!

If anyone has made a custom using a My Pretty Pony as a base, please let me know so I can fan out over it!

I have actually seen one customized before. Personally, I would only opt to restore one. Maybe someday hqg1c will com out with mpp blank. I would love a, basically, g1 zilla! That would be so epic.

I wonder if HQG1C would be able to get the internal mechanisms for movement down, or if they'd modify the MPP mold to basically just be a giant MLP if they ever did that.

I'm not even sure which I would want more, but they'd make for amazing decorations at pony conventions as well as really cool (though probably pretty darn expensive!) collectibles, so I hope that they someday give it a shot!

I feel like if the stars and planets ever aligned and I found one in really bad condition at a thrift store or something, I'd have to take it home and either make it into a kaiju or a trojan horse. If I did the second, I'd need to make a little Achaean soldier to go with it. lil Odysseus or something.

I've seen a few. I saw a baby fancy mermaid and a baby earth pony custom. And I think I remember seeing a normal sized my pretty pony made out of a cp.

I'm fairly sure I've seen a Minty before, but I can't remember who made it. Here's a Bluebelle by Mayan Butterfly from about 10 years ago:

A lot of MPP's look pretty hopeless in terms of their hair when most are found, but the hair actually isn't that hard to restore:



And sadly there are relatively few MPP's in existence in comparison to regular-sized ponied. So I think there just really aren't many truly baity MPP's floating around in an appropriate condition to be made into customs, which is too bad.

Much as I'd truly love that, I'd be afraid the cost would be truly exorbitant.

Have you seen or read about The Pony Project? Artists were given 18" blank G3 ponies to customize, and the results were wild!

I've only known of a few people who do, but Fardreamer has a section about it on her website:

As she says, it's not easy and you risk a lot of damage by cracking it open, but it's possible.
