Arty Things :)

Nice work!

I finished up that doll! I kinda love her :ponylove: I haven’t settled on a name yet though, she’s either Laurel or Sylvana. She’s for a collab based on Care Bears if anyone was wondering :) mine is forest friend bear (hence all the leaves, flowers and little bunny) C8BDA505-3C0C-492D-AB4C-23B177F1BA7A.jpeg

She turned out great so pretty!

My first time painting a model horse, but he turned out well :D
I made him for @GracefulSlumber s swap box (I hope you liked him) and I’m calling him Sugarplum. I found him at a thrift shop with some missing paint and he looked like a perfect base for a winter horse. Here are the wip pics, I used Apoxie for the additions. I decided to mostly keep the original colors cause I did like them

And here are the ones from his photo shoot  there was no real snow so I used poly fill

My gosh. You are all SO, SO TALENTED! Every one of these art projects is just adorable! Dolls and horses and drawings and colorings...I wish I could do these things. But I so enjoy seeing your accomplishments!! Thank you all for sharing them!

Awe thank you :satisfied: I do like to try out a lot of different types of crafts and art! I’m sure you’d have fun if you tried all those types out too, which is the best part of making them

Oh, I have FUN crafting. But free hand drawing type things turn out terrible. I can better enjoy digital coloring, stenciling and making custom ponies, because I like the end results.

Ahh that makes sense, well everyone has their own types that fit them best :) have you shared any of your custom ponys on here? I’d love to see them if you have

I have this problem, @Daintress and @AzaleaArt of being able to try all kinds of crafts and art and having the result turn out pretty well - but never completely polished. It's like I'm all hobby and no professional life, unless you count some of this art as professional. I don't share even half of what I do. I would rather be doing the art than taking the time to share it. Like: I am putting a new lining in a vintage coat right now by recycling a tunic I found in someone's trash. But yesterday I made a wicked mac and cheese and cleaned up a pony. And last night when I couldn't sleep I composed something on my harp that didn't get recorded and I probably won't remember, but it was there. It's embarrassing, so I don't share.

@AutumnRoan, none of that sounds embarrassing at all! Record your songs! Write down your recipes! Take pictures of your ponies! When we get old (trust me on this) we lose some of the details about our lives. You don't even have to share, but at least record things for yourself, so you can enjoy the memories of all you've accomplished!

Thank you for your kind words. My memories are like what you seem to call accomplishments, like leaves that fall from the tree, and are carried away by something greater.

When I posted my reply earlier I was wondering if any of you had the same problem as me: too good at too many things, so that no one art form gets highlighted or devellopped - an embarrassment of riches = a lack of discipline. Nobody? Or somebody, but I guess you're shy like me.

And it is embarrassing, because being known among others as artistic or musical or whatnot is not okay. There is too much envy for talent, as if talent were what people think will get them known among others better. I don't want to be known long-term. I'm here as a guest. I hope I can leave things better than when I arrived!

Yep. It goes both ways.
Someone talented in an achievement-oriented environment is hated for just enjoying what they do, instead of using those talents for whatever the beholder thinks the artist should be doing, and instead of becoming whoever the beholder thinks the the artist should become. If talent is recognised in an achievement-oriented environment then it becomes a commodity to be exploited, and if not, trashed.

The making of art is its own reward, and I sure do admire what Azalea's done and shared here!
