G1 Basic Fun Retro Ponies: News Ponies at Target! [Updated 8/5/20]

Update, according to BF the only retailers to pick up the Twinkle Eyes collection are Meijer and Cracker Barrel. With only two small retailers carrying this line, I suspect it will be coming to an end after the first TE wave. Will likely have to pay scalper prices for this set, since there is no Meijer in FL and the nearest CB is pretty far away.

Fizzy, Sky Rocket, Sweet Stuff and Gingerbread! There's a screenshot of the list from BF on the previous page with the product codes if they'll help!

No idea why they're doing three ponies with the same pose instead of two of each pose like the other waves, but I'll take what I can get lol, I'm going to call all of my local CBs when August comes around and see if they'll be getting them! I hope Amazon will be getting them at least, I'd prefer not to drive all over the city to find them lol

I asked BF about the next wave of ponies whilst I was contacting them about a defective Cherries Jubilee I got, and they let me know the Twinkle Eyed ponies are still slated for release in Fall 2021! No idea about which retailers will get them, but I'll provide an update when they get back to me. Hopefully at least Amazon will get them or something :/

I hope Amazon will get them too. I don't have a Target in my city, and the sole Crackerbarrel is only doing pick up and outdoor dining.

We don’t have Cracker Barrel or meijer... considering I’ve never heard of them. No hobby lobby either. Target lost so much revenue due to covid that’s probably why they dropped the line. They’re contracted with Disney, too, which is struggling. I wish I could get a stimulus check and put it right back into the economy, but, debt. It’s gotten worse during covid.

I broke down and bought the four Earth ponies on Ebay. I hate to do it, but I got tired of driving 45 minutes to find empty shelves.

Target has been nil with Wave 4 Earth Ponies (Lickity Split, Tootsie, Posey etc) for two months now. There isn't even a POG spot for them on the end cap anymore. So, I guess the only way I can get any new ponies is from other collectors to make an order through them. But to hear Twinkle Eyed ponies are coming, this means I can replace Sky Rocket! I gave away my Sky Rocket years ago and I regretted it since because my Memaw gave it to me for my 7th birthday.

I’ve checked all 5 targets in my area and no retro ponies. They even clearances out the last of the gusty/sparkler/heart throb/surprise ponies that were left.

This sucks! I wanted Posey more than any other! She was my first pony as a kid, I remember getting her MOC and I was really looking forward to closing the loop!

Fizzy was another one I had and I’m looking forward to getting her.

Same, I’ve checked the 4 in my area and nothing. I didn’t even see any on clearance. But I may have missed that spot. I’m hoping they’re just delayed sending out the newest wave due to covid but who knows ...

I never had gone to Cracker Barrel until I saw this post! I went to the one we have in Salt Lake City and they had the heartthrob/gusty wave. I was kinda hoping for the posey/lickety split wave .. but nah. I really hope other retailers apart from Cracker Barrel get the TE wave.

Thanks to my friend Troy on FB who found Lickity Split, Posey and Cherries Jubilee for me at Majiours (sp?). They'll arrive in the mail in a few days.

Since the next wave of ponies Twinkle Eyed won't show up in stores until Fall, I can take a break from pony hunting. Target in Marysville, WA, the endcap is stripped and changed up. Looks like Target's contract to sell the ponies is over. I hope another type of store brings them in.
