Hello everyone, I come today to show you what a journey it was for me to restore this pony. Maybe it's a simple pony to fix but it's hair gave me nightmares. I was also thinking that it's easier to eliminate rust in pony hair when the hair has a color, it may be less obvious after a wash and oxi clean and end up looking pretty good. But in white hair it's always staying there. So for this pony I realised that after the hours of untangling the hair was pretty long and still may work out. (I honestly refuse to rehair and I want to keep everything original) So after using all the tecniques I knew I came up with a not so good result and after experimenting with a few things I realised that magic eraser when used in small hair locks really cleans the hair and makes a great result. Yes it may be a hell of time spent in cleaning a pony tail but I wanna show you my results with this pony! I'm super happy plus Minty is one of my favorite ones ever. ♥

This is the before and after picture. I'm so happy I managed to make this pony work out after a few months of having it looking like a real mess.

And I made a video about the whole process if anyone likes these!

You’ve made that Minty look amazing!:ponylove:How did the previous owner play to have the mane and tail that puffy I wonder…

My G3 Minty has patches of rust splatters through her tail that has turned white. I’ve faded it with a usual wash and other techniques. I wonder if I can do anything with the magic eraser like you

Wow! Impressive. I also learned a new way to put the tails back in. I always zip tied it then popped the clipped zip through the back end. Luckily none of the holes have ripped on me but your way looks better.

I don't know it came with a lot that was in very bad condition in general. A blue Belle with no hair and Butterscotch in nearly same condition haha.

For the the magic eraser was such an Eureka Moment! It was painfully time consuming but worth it at the end if you have a pony with this extreme rust that didn't go away you can give it a try! And by the way the magic eraser worked better dried!

You're way more patient than I am. She turned out great!
Belive me when I say that I became more patient than I was after this haha. I also made this through several days when I thought it was fun making it! Never under presure so it became really a therapy kind of thing. Also being picky to keep original hair always drives me through this kind of decisions!

There's various ways, I've never done that way. But I guess I started this way since my first restorations were G2 and it's imposible to do that otherwise there!

Absolutely beautiful job!

Are you using a boar bristle type brush? I think I used to use one when I still made a lot of yarn wefts but I'd never thought to try them on acrylic hair.
I only use it for this kind of ponies with lots of tangles. Because I find it easier with other brushes to break hair as soon as you pull a little harderd. So with this tipoe of brushes Its kind of gentle at least in my experience to start untangling a bigger amount. And of course most of it was done by hand since it was super tangled!

Aww yessssssssss I love your restoration videos! She turned out amazing!
Thank you so much! ♥♥ Glad you like them!!!!!! I hope to continue doing these since I've always enjoyed filming and editing too! haha 3 hobbies in one!

Coming back about the magic eraser use on tail rust.

Turns out it wasn’t my Minty who had the rust patches, it was my G3 Desert Rose. She has a pink tail with holographic tinsel and… wow. Wow! It’s works! Thank you so much for sharing this discovery! I should’ve got some before pictures for a before an after to share but I didn’t get good enough ones to see it properly

Hey thank you for commenting back about your experience! And You're welcome. I'm constantly trying new things when It comes to restoration and for sure I'm sharing my results! Thank you for adding up that your pony has tinsel so we now know it works on tinsel too without damaging it!

I would be careful about using magic erasers on coloured tinsel, especially G1’s. When I got a G1 Princess Misty, her hair was a mess and needed washing. She was my first experience with G1’s and I didn’t know how fragile the tinsel would be. When I washed and brushed it out, her perfectly coloured purple tinsel started flaking off. I think holographic tinsel like Desert Roses don’t damage because it has no coloured coating
