I know this has probably been answered around here somewhere before. But Ive been searching and I only found a bunch of confusing answers on the arena... First of all recently I found a dot on one of my new white ponies.

Is this mold? If so how do I soak the pony and take off its head? Is there anything else I should do and is it true it can spread to the rest of my ponies? I bought some oxy clean do I make it into a paste or make an oxy bath? Can the hair get in the oxy clean or will it change the hare or body color?

I also bought some terribly horrible ponies that look like they are infested with the same dark dots.
Glory
Little dots some get darker in the middle.

These brown spots dont have dark dots in the middle of them.

Skydancer is yellow so I dont want to bleach her...

I guess I am just needing step by step instruction on what to do for soaking? Oxycleaning? These ponies so I can make them nice <3

~Thanks so much xXJosieXx

that looks more like cancer to me. you can't cure cancer only paint over it, maybe sunfade it in some cases, or just deal with it. cancer isn't contagious; it's the plastic getting old.

The plastic on a G3 could get old already? Because the dot on the current pony is on a g3.

I will post a picture when I come back from OH this weekend. Only reason I asked without posting a pic of the real pony was because I was just reading and learned about mold spreading...and was worried about my other ponies back home. I will update this post with pics when I return :) Thanks for the help guys.

Pony cancer is the decay of the plastic so it may spread on that pony but not to others.
I am bumping this since I posted the pics of my ponies now :)

Those pics look like a combination of cancer (incurable - paint over them), pin dot mold (scrub hard, inside and out, might leave marks / tiny holes) and symbol rust on the glittery symbols (you could try CLR or Oxyclean on those).

Usually whenever I get new ponies I give them a little bath with a mixture of mild hand soap and a scoop of oxyclean in the bathroom sink. If they are super bad I will open them up (hot water and elbow grease to loosen the neck glue, especially with G3's). If it is a stubborn mark that isn't any of the above I use goof off, but that will take off symbols and eyes if you are not careful - they'll need a bath after that too because goof off smells like a chemical warfare zone.

ok well lets see what i can help with...

G3-it looks like cancer to me
Glory-no idea really. I habe one with something similr but she got uit while sunbathing in a car last summer and she's been in a box with other baits all winter so it's not contageous, but idk what yours has...it doesn't look like any pindot i've seen so idk what to tell you
Windy-it's either cancer or rust. the glitter suymboled ponys seem prone to getting cancer under the glitter so if you were to remove the gliter symbol it'd almost appear like trhe symbol was still there but in brown (i've had 2 Majestys do tjhat to me ^^; )
Skydancer-that looks like cancer to me as well. but you can bleach her and it shouldn't remove the color at all. i've bleached yellow ponys and they had no damage done to them-if anything the bleach'll get rid of the indrained dirt so it'll look broighter that way.

if you choose to bleach anyone though do not use pure bleach. in short doses it *shouldn't* hurt the plastic but if you leave it in for too long it'll eat it alive. you want a water/bleach mix and you might have to leave the pony to soak in it from anywhere from 30-120 mintues (depending upon the sevarity of it's problems) or even over nigt, but it will kill pindots and make them fall out generally speaking.

I hope some of that can help you.

Actually all this helped a lot! You have answered all of my questions but one and that's can the hair be in the oxy and bleach baths? I will post pics in show in tell with my results, I think you guys have loaded me with enough info to be able to start in on these girls! Since this is just for my personal collection I am not too picky so if they come out looking any better then I will be tickled! Thanks again everyone and if anyone else has any tips for me I'll be checking back <3

i acn't tell you about oxy bath, but bleach yes. as i've said before, i stick ponys in bleach often and that's hair and all. i actually had bleecgh repink my Lickety Split's hair somedown...I'm not sure how it did that, but before she went in it was wjile, when she came out it was a light pinky-white. you'll just have to condition the hair afterwards is all, but you do rhat anyways when they dry hair so it's nothing all that extra to do ^^
