Cleaning out TE with rust?

I finally got Locket's head off and am preparing the oxyclean bath. Consequently, I almost stabbed myself in the chest and hand trying to cut through the seal. (I guess I need an adult. XD)

Its not too bad, but her head has rust inside as well. How would I clean her out without ruining her eye coating please?

I'm not the most experienced with rust removal, but possibly Vaseline in a glob to cover and protect the eyes, then use something to pour the rust remover inside the head and a small brush inside, then rinse and air dry?

Sadly, you can't use OxiClean on TE's as it does take away the twinkle, but go for it on her body. For her head use dish soap and luke warm water on the surface, hot is fine for inside.

Funny enough I am currently doing a few experiments as we speak on how best to restore the twinkle eye ponies. I will share when I find something I am happy with the results.
