Finally seen whales this sailing trip <3

Photos and video can't do it justice!

How wonderful! I bet you were just thrilled!

I remember seeing just dolphins on the ferry at the Gulf and I literally went mental. I love seeing beautiful critters in the wild!

We absolutely went mental seeing whales so close lol. We thought there were Going to land on a friend's boat they just seemed so close to it!

Dolphins are so beautiful. They play between the hulls, so when we see them we sit on the trampoline and watch. We have seen a few random ones but the past major group was back in Vic.

We have had lots of turtles too. Sea critters are so amazing.

It is crazy here atm, we are off the coast of qld with pretty poor service. From what I understand qld has closed itself to Vic, SA and nsw. Vic has closed itself up. I wanted to go for a trip home to Vic to visit my mum but can't. And we can't get to a vaccination center either. So luckily most of the people out sailing are like us, pretty much cut off from the outbreaks! Crazy times!

Wow!! That’s so cool! :D Nice picture of him too, any idea what kind of what’s it is?
Sorry to hear that you can’t visit with your mom though

Wow that's really awesome! I would like to take my mom to see them but she would get sea sick. Beautiful opportunity you got.

I won’t lie, I probably would’ve jumped overboard to swim with them. My dream is to swim with blue whales, humpbacks and dolphins in the wild. I’d also love to swim with orcas but they kind of scare me. Lol

I read that a lot of Australia went back into lockdown again. :( While 70% of our population is fully vaccinated now, we’re seeing another rise in positive results so we might be heading back into another lockdown. We’ve only recently gotten out of one since October of last year. Hopefully we will all see an end to lockdowns soon so we can spend time with our loved ones.

Your so lucky! I love whales and dolphins.

@Skybreeze you are braver than me. Their massive size and strength is just a little too scary for me to jump in with them lol.

@AzaleaArt it is a whale, but I'm not sure what kind, I'll have to ask.

We have had the most up and down service for the past month. We still have about a month bf we will start heading home, but it has got worse rather than better, so we will just see what happens. In the meantime, we have been snorkling, swimming and making the most of the beaches. I am definitely luckier than my poor family in lockdown!
