I have a few questions. I bought a lot to restore and this is the worst lot I have ever gotten. A So Soft Posey has a lot of tail rust. How do you remove this? And Moondancer and Medley's glittery symbols are rubbed. Is there any way to help this? Some sort of paint pen maybe? And a couple of ponies have one strand of hair at the bottom of their mane that is twice as long as the rest of the hair. What is that all about? And Medley's tail is a little greener than her mane. Is she supposed to look like that, or does she maybe have a new tail?

re

with the tail rust you can use oxyclean to get rid of it. it works great with my "rusty" ponies, lolz.

I've tried numerous types of glitter paint, and the glitter is too 'thin' in the paint to restore pony symbols.... I've heard toothpaste/dish soap is good for rusty tails.
As for medley's tail, I have a few ponies with slight differences in colour and their tails are original, so I wouldn't worry about it. Heck, my posey has a white mane and pink tail!

I find the best glitter replacement actually comes in nail polish (try a kids accessory store)

The doubble length hair is just part of the tail that wasn't caught by the clasp and pulled through.

And tail rust, remove the tail and the washer, throw the washer out. (use plastic) Tail rust is caused by ponies who got wet, and then the washers rusted because they weren't dried properly :(

once you have the tail out, i find leaving it in bathroom cleaner overnight gets rid of all the gunk and grime (something Like CLR that kills lime and rust for bathroom tubs). then just wash the tail and it should be fine :)

Ponies are lots of fun to restore but they can be alotta work. ar eyou going to deflock SS posey?

congrats on your lot ;)

No, I love her so soft. I'll buy the non so soft eventually. Her flocking is in great condition, except for a small line around the crease in her neck. And its on the non display side. But for future reference, how do you deflock a pony? I've heard nail polish remover maybe?
