Hey all! Got a question regarding beddy-bye eyes for G1s. Is it possible to remove the beddy-bye eyes, and if so, how is it done? I recall seeing some tutorial SOMEWHERE about replacing them with putty (or something) + painting a new eye over it, but I can't find it any more/I have no idea where that was.

Looking inside the head it appears that the eye mechanism is enclosed in a little "bubble" of plastic; it's a pocket the eye mechanism sits in. I had thought there might be something I could remove, then poke the eye through the head, but... nope. So I'm wondering how they got the eye in there in the first place, and how to get it out.

Would it be simply a matter of heating the head up with hot water until it's soft enough to wedge out, or something?

...I was planning on turning her into a twinkle-eye custom, so... my original idea of just putting the gem in behind the eye socket is going to have to be... re-evaluated. c_c;

O__O You found a secret and very outdated page.

A quick disclaimer for anyone reading tips over please do not use Jasco to deflock a pony. Jasco should never be your first second or third option when deflocking a pony. Also, please do not use warm/hot water to clean a so soft pony this will start (or in some cases completely) to deflock your pony. Since these articles were written we (pony community) have found better and safer ways to do both things.

We have been working on updating all the tutorials as these were all very old outdated tips from the previous owner of the MLPTP. Please disregard this page as it is out dated and no longer recommended as the community now has better and safer ways to restore our beloved ponies. <3

I was wondering why there was no link :lolpony:

Phew, it’s a good thing the link was seen to be outdated. Having no experience with special G1 restorations and only remembered that link, I wouldn’t have known.
Thanks for editing out that link, Skybreeze :smile:

No troubles. We have updated our tutorials section and kept the relevant information and updated some of the outdated things. ;)

We are working on new stuff and updated tips and tricks as well.

ah... wow. Okay. This kinda blew up in a way I didn't expect, but, um... good that you found some outdated stuff that was still out there so you can take steps to correct it? ^_^;;

....Does pushing the eye out from behind still work, or is there a better way to do that, too? c_c;

Edit: Wait, I see the link to the new tutorial, in the updated tutorial pages. ^.^ Thanks!
