Dyed pony question

Hi!
I have a question and I think I already have the answer, but I wanted to make it sure. I received a G1 body that I plan to make a custom, because someone dyed it red. I don't know what kind of dye was used, probably some kind of fabric dye. When I cleaned the body with the usual methods (soap, oxygen cleaning), some dye leaked from the surface, but the change was not noticeable. I'll paint over the whole stuff anyway, but before doing this I'd like to ask: is it impossible to remove the colour of dye or bleach out, isnt't it? :lolpony:

I dye Ponies all the time and yup...it's a commitment. You might be able to lighten it slightly with boiling again and changing out the water frequently, but it's never going to go back to what it was.
Time will also fade dye, regardless of how well it was set the first time. Sealant keeps the color longer for sure.

Thanks, I'll try it with boiling water, before painting over, and we'll see.
