Alright ponies, I had a great time hosting the Valentines exchange I've decided to host an Easter exchange :D The Valentine exchange was a sucess, so I hope this one will turn out to be just as fun.

Everyone is welcome to join!

If you are interested, there are 3 options to choose from:

easterline2.gif
easterline2.gif

Option 1 EASTER CARD EXCHANGE

This option is just for sending out Easter cards. Everyone who signs up for option 1 will be put on a mailing list and send out card to everyone on the list. :D

The cards are not limited to Easter they can also be Spring cards :D Be as creative as you like, you can buy them for make em yourself. The only thing required for the card exchange is the cards. However if you would like send stickers, candy or other goodies feel free.

Option 2 EASTER EGG EXCHANGE
This option is just for sending out plastic Easter eggs. For this exchange I will put people in small groups for exchanging Easter eggs. Be as creative as you like with the eggs. What goes inside the eggs is up to you. For this exchange, plastic Easter eggs and something inside of them is required. Put whatever you want in the eggs: chocolate, stickers, jellybeans, glitter, confetti etc.

What size eggs should i send?

This is up to you. There are several different sizes of eggs and which ones you use will depend on what you want to put in em, and how you'll package em. :D You can send one size or mix em up.

How many should i send?

Again this is up to you. Just use your common
sense.

Here are some pics of the plastic eggs for our international sign ups:

Option 3 BOTH EXCHANGES

Signing up for option 3, means you would like to do both exchanges. :D

Option 4
Another exchange idea curtosy of Ladydaydreamer :D added Feb 28, 2006

Secret Bunny Easter Baskets:

In this exchange, everyone who signs up will get a person to send an easter basket to. However you won't know who your easter basket is comming from :D

I would suggest sending small baskets, as bigger ones might be costly to ship. For equality purposes, plan to spend around $10. If you want to spend more thats fine, but don't do more than you can.

Whatever you want to stick in the baskets is fine and be as creative as you like.

Basiclly you can choose to take part in both exchanges or just one. You are only expected to do what your wallet will let you. The whole point of this is to have fun and celebrate spring and Easter.

Deadlines: Im not a stickler for dealines, but I would like everyone to try and get their stuff out for Easter. :D But i know **** happens

If your interested in signing up send me a PM!

*edit Almost forgot! If you have an questions or need something, don't hesitate to let me know :D

*edit Sign up will be open until March 14th. I will take any last mintue people until the 16th, but I want to have the finalized mailing lists out to everyone by March 16th.

*edit If you want to send religious Easter cards for the card exchange, I see no reason why this would be a problem. If anyone is offended by religious cards, please let me know.

*edit I think sticking to wrapped or sealed candy is a better idea, so please use wrapped or sealed candy if you want to send any. :D

*edit 3-9-06
Here is how many people we have signed up for each exchange. :D We have about 4 more days, but this is to give everyone and idea:

Also here is a list of everyone who is signed up. If you signed up but don't see your name here please let me know. Also I'm still a couple of addy's, so please make sure you've sent yours :D

*edit 3-10-06 For those of you who are in the basket exchange I'm thinking about having you guys post some info about yourselves and a want list so your secret easter bunny can see it. However i don't want to put people under pressure with regard to buying gifts and I dont want people expecting something and then not getting it. So I can always PM your person and send you their info. Remember you can send whatever you want in the basket, it doesn't have to be MLP stuff. Be creative and do whatever you would like :D Just remember for purposes of equality expect to send around $10 bucks.

Also I put people and groups togeather randomly, I literatly put names out of a hat, However if you have a special need, please let me know and I will bend this :D

And lastly...this is all about having fun and interacting with fellow pony people, so please do what feels right and makes you happy. :D

*EDITED 3-17-06*

Alright everyone, I have sucessfully sent out everyones needed Easter infomation! Im sorry that I fell behind my deadline. Everyone should have recived a PM from me with the appropiate information which was a mailing list for the card exchange, 2 addresses your egg group, the address and name of your SECRET Easter basket person or a combination there of depending on what you signed up for.

Everyone address should be correct, However i want to make absoultely sure. If you recived a mailing list let me know if your addy is wrong. If you are in the Egg Exchange please check with eachother if the addys your got are correct. For the Easter Basket Exchange I was thinking of posting everyone's addy and then PMing me if its wrong. BUT i dont entirely like that because anyone could see them,(like Trolls) that would just make my life eaiser. Well instead Im gonna PM everyone in the basket exchange a make sure. Not right now though my eyes are bleeding and my fingers are starting to fall off.

Anyways I want to thank everyone who signed up for our Easter exchange. I hope that everyone is having a great time and I look forward to whats comming in the mail:)worthy: all hail the holy mailbox) Thank you for allowing me to host yet another Holiday exchange. Im having a blast doing this and look forward to future holidays. :D

We have a total of 29 people signed up. 15 people signed up for the card exchange, 18 people signed up for the egg exchange and 18 people signed up for the Easter basket exchange. Best of luck in searching for your Easter goodies.
(Basket exchange=Ladydaydreamer'd idea and a good one too)

If anyone has a problem, a question, needs anything or just wants to PM me for the hell of it... you know where to find me :D

P.S. DONT TELL ANYONE WHO YOUR BASKET PERSON IS!! :D

Here is some Easter finds for people on Budgets courtsy of goddessofpeep:

Easter Bargins for basket people on a budget:

Target: good sized basket(unfortunately with long handle which is going to be a pain to ship) for 99 cents. This basket is large enough to fit a MIB G3 single pony, and to cram a few other things in there besides. They come in several different colors(pink, yellow, purple).

Target: Easter grass - 29 cents(the second cheapest I've found was at TRU for 49 cents).

Big Lots: Many sizes of eggs - 33 cents per pack(I got 6 or 8 large size eggs for this price). Most other places have basic eggs for $1 or more per pack.

Easter grass is Easter grass, so if you can get it for 29 cents instead of a dollar, that leaves more money for other stuff;)

Also, I have noticed that many of the eggs I've seen in stores are dirty in the packages. I've been washing them even if there's no food going into them because nobody wants a dirty egg:p

Just a note, that you cant ship candy into the USA or Australia.

You can if you dont get caught =P I have a friend who ships goodies to people overseas all the time. Even writes on the shipping label what it is! Nothing has ever happened to him yet. *shrugs* I accidently shipped some candy in the V day exchange to someone OS, and they got it fine. Mine was total accidental though. I didnt realise till after the card was sealed.

Yes that is true, but not everyone wants to take that risk. People can make up their own mind, if they want to do it or not. But I thought I would warn you.

Any other country which is not those two, is fine, they dont have that law.

..

I"m in. I want to do the easter egg exchange. I'm so excited. Whoever I get is going to be pleased with the ideas I'm coming up with.

Alright thanks to all who signed up so far! :D

..

I'm just curious. what happens if you send candy to one of those countries and they find out that theres candy in it?

They can destroy it and fine the sender.

In Australia, they either heat treat it (if it safe to do so), or send it back to the sender or destroy it. I am not what exactly sure happens to specifically candy, as these are what happens to anything which they describe as "quarantiable". Quarantine goods are not just food, they are seeds, plant related material, soil, sand and animals (including skins and furs).

Sorry, this isn't true. A friend of mine sent me a box of candy over Halloween from the US. The box was delayed because customs opened it and did a random check on the box (they left a note for me). The candy was all still there. There is no issue with sending candies and chocolates etc, I suggest checking quarantine laws... there's no laws against these things.

Then how come on the Australian quarantine website is specifically says that food is not allowed into there?

Certain types of food aren't allowed - perishable items etc... plant material etc but chocolates, candies, canned goods... all make it through a quarantine check. If they weren't allowed, trust me my friend would have gotten into a lot of trouble and I would never have gotten my box! I'll have to look it up again, but I'm pretty certain as long as you declare it on your customs form - its fine. Certain things are not allowed at all but usually the trouble comes from people trying to smuggle them in and not being honest on customs forms.

*edit* detailed list of what you CAN'T send into Australia:

http://www.affa.gov.au/content/output.cfm?ObjectID=92E664D1-A012-4F8C-A481E22DE6759942

Search on importing "candy" into Australia - conditions:

Condition C9940
Non-Commercial

The conditions under the Commercial section apply.

Commercial

1. An Import Permit is not required.

2. A Quarantine Entry is not required.

3. The term "confectionary" refers to solid sweets and lollies, eg. Toffees, chocolate, fudge, boiled sweets, peppermints, marshmallows, liquorice, etc. It does not include liquid dairy desserts, spreads or drinks, which are covered by the separate ICON case for "dairy products".

Can a box of chocolates be sent to the US from the UK then? I have no qualms about hiding it at all, but I just need to know if i have to or not.

Regarding US Restrictions:

"
From 12th December, 2003 the US Government introduced new laws about sending food and drink in to the USA. Items containing manufactured food will not be accepted by Royal Mail or at your local Post Officeâ„¢ without the relevant pre-notification details.

Before posting any food-stuffs to the USA you may need to complete an online form to pre-advise the US authorities of its arrival. After completing this form it should take about 15 minutes to receive your ‘prior notification reference number’ from the US Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) which needs to be included on the usual Customs form – click here for more Customs information

This applies to any manufactured food or drink for either humans or animals but does not apply to homemade or manufactured foods being sent as a personal gift to individual people in the USA but you should clearly indicate this on the Customs form that this the case. If you don’t do this your parcels or packets containing food or drink may be returned to you or even destroyed.

This move by the US Government is to help protect the USA from the possibility of a bio-********* attack via food items sent in to the country by post and applies to all countries around the world."

Basically, yes you can send chocolate and other candy to the USA - but you must declare it on the customs form. Seems simple enough to me.
