*Trumpets* Presenting Prince Luminary!

SunnyGlamG2PrinceLuminary.jpgG2PrinceLuminary.jpgEyesPrinceLum.jpgNonDisplayPrince.jpg He was going to be a regular pony, I think with the Chartreuse highlight as a forelock. I wanted him to have the same hair color as the first stripe in a second edition rainbow pony. But along with "cantaloupe" Shimmer Locks sent a sample of a light champagne colored metallic called "summer charm." It was so beautiful! So he had to be a prince, as in G2 only royalty have tinsel, and I am now addicted to metallic hair!
He is rerooted with alternating plugs of cantaloupe/summer charm/cantaloupe/summer charm, and so on, but the green stripes are Surprise's hair color from HQG1 blended with a Doll Planet color called "metallic cantaloupe," which is a different shade of orange than Shimmer Locks' cantaloupe. The tail is just that metallic summer charm and Surprise colored.

I learned to be careful when filling in the eye hole with glue! Oh well, he's trendy prince, and wears white shadow on only one eye (dried glue mess on display side- Ugh!).

I also found out that it's best to use a size six (or if you want smaller, then seven) needle to rehair G2s. I broke nine needles. It became a regular thing to break a needle flush with the scalp, so I had a special overly symmetrical rerooting needle from Shimmer Locks set aside to push those in to clear the hole. I love Shimmer, but their needles don't work for me.

G2 eyes are 2.7-3mm crystals, POINTED back- this is called "SS12 pointed back Swarovski." some Swarovski sites have an option as to the jewel cut of the rhinestone, I think it is regular Swarovski, not "diamond," or any of the other options. I used "light sapphire" crystals to make the iris look sky blue and not turquoise (the bait pony was a Clever Clover, he has turquoise eyes).

Now my Ponysona reincarnates consecutively! Welcome to the family Prince Luminary!

EDIT:
So I added some accessories from She-Ra to the Prince and Luminary Glow. They are now vintage objets de virtu. His wings are from Sweet Bee and attach like G2 Spring's (see pic from Lavender Lagoon). The prince's crown is from Glimmer. Had to make a "basic" version. I think the unicorn needs a bow tie too (so you can tell he's a boy wearing eyeshadow)....The basic and the uni were both white ponies dyed with Frost Gray. Go figure.

I love how the 3 finished ponys are all clearly the same character but all have their own look too. G1 being a unicorn with a big gold symbol, G2 with shiny hair and a red symbol and G3 with its solid orange hair  They’re all very cute
Was gonna start a Big Brother tonight, hoping I could get a "basic identity" for him. The bait seemed to be the right color on eBay, but when I got him he was turquoise. I tried frost gray Rit and he turned completely black. Back to the drawing board on that. I also want to make a pastel version using a Velvet Bow as bait.

The red symbol was supposed to be orange, but it came out real dark. It's a learning game, from now on the symbol will have to be chartreuse, trying to get it to match the hair.

All three of the g2s make a lovely set! :ponylove: I love the wings added!! I think he looks like a boy without a bowtie if you dont want to add it. I love the charm of the g2 boys and girls having the same molds because in reality male and female horses are the same in appearance. They can just be themselves without having to prove masculinity!:twohearts: Even tho we as people dont always have that luxury, even if we should. Makeup also isnt gendered, Luminary can wear his gorgeous eyeshadow. I have lots of male friends who rock similar looks hehe! Also im LOVING that jewelry headband on the third Luminary in that pic!

I just mean, as much as I do love big brother g1 ponies and all of the boy molds, I do find it very silly they felt the need to give boy ponies hairy legs so no one would confuse them with girls lol. Men dont have to be hairy lol and thats not how horses work haha.:lolpony:
