So, I am officially volunteering for the MLP/Brony convention Everfree Northwest (located in Bellvue, WA)! I am going to be working in the "Foals' Arts and Crafts" room. So basically setting arts and crafts up for the kids and stuff like that. I do this for my regular job at my Synagogue so I thought I'd be qualified!
I get that it's not the kind of pony convention most of y'all would probably want to go to, but I'm really excited to go and to help out. I've gone two different years as a guest before and it was a lot of fun.
If you happen to be going, I'd love it if you could drop by and say hi!

That sounds fun! If it weren't on the other side of the country I would totally check it out. I am a G1 girl but I don't discriminate LOL I hope you have a awesome time!

I’m close enough, but I’m a chicken. I don’t handle crowds or big groups. Grocery shopping is hard. How big is this event?

It depends, it looks like the most attendance they've ever had was just under 3000 and that was in 2016... in 2019 they had less than 2000 attendees. Because of the pandemic, I suspect it'll be even less than that. But even close to 1000 is quite a lot o_O So it might be a bit too big of a crowd

@yourpinkoverlord that sounds exciting! Sadly it doesn’t look like I will be attending any cons this year (again). Canadian gov still keeping our borders tight and haven’t yet loosened restrictions for people who’re fully vaccinated. It doesn’t look like it will be happening any time soon either sadly.

@Tak I’m not sure if the schedule but typically if it’s a Friday-Sunday kind of event, I find that Friday’s and later on the Sunday are typically less busy. Having said that Everfree is typically more busy being considered a “Brony-con” vs say Pony Friends Forever con.

Yeah probably too much for me. E says she’ll take me when she’s older.

Back in 2019 my fiancé drove us from here in New York all the way there and back again. We’re going to do the same thing this year. My favorite part of closing ceremonies back in 2019 is when they announced a new venue, and they mentioned there was going to be free parking for attendees and the cheer that went up from the crowd was amazing!

We actually attended the first everfree northwest in 2012 and we flew then. It was my first time on a (round-trip) plane and I hated it. We flew again later for a Texas convention, and then Wisconsin, but try to avoid it when we can because I am so terrified of the plane plummeting from the sky.
…I also no longer cross bridges very well. >_>

But even that year, they went to a different venue the next year so we will have attended three everfree northwests by the end of this year and none of them were in the same venue XD

2019 was very important to us, because we really enjoyed the young student six and this was several of the VA’s first conventions, and the first convention that had all 6+ Cozy Glow. Plus it was the first time that we drove across country and my fiancé was very excited about that. I don’t drive at all so it’s all him and he always wanted to do this. We even found a coloring book with the young six/Cozy in it which was the very first piece of merchandise we ever found with them because not too many toys were made sadly. So we managed to find 8 of them and we gave one to each VA with one to keep ourselves. We even found extra to put in that children’s room that year!

I can talk forever about this trip but to close it out so I’m not monopolizing everything, the funny thing about the coloring book is that they spelled Cozy Glow COSY so I told Sunny (the VA) it was her European cousin. XD
