This week I found some more G4 ponies in the charity shop but they came with a Rainbow Rocks Rainbow Dash. I already have this pony and I personally don’t like being stuck with doubles in my collections. I also was never planning to do more customs and to use up the remaining orange hair I had from Heart Break but I saw this as an opportunity…

The pony in my avatar is a pony I made up when I was about 12 or 13. Playing about on those G4 character creators on DeviantArt at the time, I came up with this pony. I’ve been drawing them ever since (I’m now 22) and I’ve still not came up with a name or a symbol that sticks as well as this design has done with me

I made this character sheet earlier this year because I kept losing the shade of the eyes. I have updated it with my G5 drawing (on the Art Extravaganza thread) but this is the original sheet.

I knew it was tricky to remove a G4 head with the neck peg from pictures I’ve seen but oh my goodness, it was FAR harder then I expected and a tutorial that I saw which said “it’s super easy” was a total lie. Putting it back on was worse. After being pleased with how the painting had gone and thinking “this has gone too easy, it’s odd, somethings going to happen”, the paint ruins in places. I fixed it though but there are marks from it…

Now that’s out of the way, here is my pony! The first pictures is a comparison to the Rainbow Rocks Dashie I already had as the base of my pony was Rainbow Rocks Dashie

I got the hair from TheDollHairEmphorium on Etsy. The blue hair is Metallic Sapphire Nylon and the white is Sea Salt Nylon. The blue is such an amazing shade in person and the white looked so ghostly in the bundle it was in. I accidentally cut their tail too short which is a bit of a bother but the design has a short tail anyway
Like my past two customs, I used Posca paint pens on the whole body

I didn’t add eyelashes because I don’t really draw them with those. I’m really pleased with the result and very happy that my pony is now a reality! I’ve thought about it many times but now it’s really happened

Your pony looks great! I love that shade of blue on her
Thanks!
I was thinking of just keeping the body the Rainbow Dash colour but there was big red stain on the side of one hoof (the kind of stains that sink into the plastic) and my drawings are a lot more bluer than that. Also, if I remember rightly from years ago, they weren’t supposed to be the same as Dashie in the first place :satisfied:

Just a really nice looking pony. I really like the shades of blue you've used. The paint looks very smooth.

Thanks
The paint feels very smooth (but not in the places it got ruined), that’s the good thing about Poscas!
