"It's not as bad as it looks, Mama."
I always wanted this pony to have a gold sun and silver clouds, so I'm doing that with this fakie baby. I'm totally doing it backwards and did the hair first as I'm not sure which paints I'll use.

The decapitated stage always looks grisly when customizing, doesn't it?
The hair looks lovely! Will you be re-doing the eyes for a more traditional G1 look, or will you stay within the smaller indents already there?

It's so silly seeing all the ponies in pieces as projects rage on. Thanks so much. I love rehairing! I'll probably leave her eyes to honor her original look. I can't wait to do the custom cuties when I get the time. :rainbow:

great job on the hair! I can't wait to see her finished :)

Are you going to do a glitter symbol?
Yes I am. I just need the right paint. I'm open to suggestions. And to sate my OCD I'm going to give her a gold sun and silver clouds, because I always wondered why they chose a silver sun with gold clouds. A mixed up memo, maybe?

lol I always thought that was strange combo too.

I do my glitter by purchasing super fine glitter and mixing it in modge podge and paint it on that way. I like how it comes thick, and I can use a toothpick to straighten out any loose glitter. I am at work at the moment, I don't have samples to show right now, but I can photograph one later if you'd like.

OMG that's amazing advice, thank you! If it's no trouble I'd love to see your work with it. I have both those things so that's exciting news. Just bought a set of brushes made for miniatures and thought that'd help. This lil fakie is getting a major upgrade!

Sorry for the delay. Here’s a few restorations I’ve done using the fine glitter and mod podge method. I forgot to mention, I do paint a layer of acrylic paint on the bottom to ensure it's all 'filled' and I know where to paint the glitter.

Firefly’s symbol was basically all wiped out

And the glitter I used

That's amazing work! I can't wait to try it. Thank you for letting me know and showing me your own stunning results! That's a good tip too, putting acrylic paint under so it'll be fully filled in. Awesome, thanks again!!!:popper:
