Fursuit Progress Thread

The eyes are done! I do have a pretty wide blind spot in the middle of the face, but I can get around it.

He’s coming to life! He has so much more character already :flutter2:
I am so excited for him to be finished!!! It has been a lot of work so far, but I love him so much!
I have also been doing some free badges for my friends to get more examples for commissions, and it makes me so happy to make them happy!
This community really is awesome, even if I forgot that for a little while.

The eyes are completely removable, so it will be much easier to clean. They fit nice and snug!

That’s great they’re removable, are they secure in the head?
I hope you manage to get the remaining fur in time. I’m looking forward to seeing him done :lolpony:

Yes! The eyes fit perfectly in the head.
I found pretty close color matches on a different website that are in stock, so I am planning on purchasing from them instead.

Here's a hair draft!

I'm still debating on if he will have hair permanently or not, I was thinking of making it magnetic.

Magnetic hair gives you some options of how Byakko may be styled on certain days and depending on any headwear he may have for an occasion, like a party, hair could be in the way. A hat may not sit well on his hair. I think magnets are a great choice

What sort of hairstyle does Byakko have? I went back to the first post again to see his ref. This surprised me :lolpony:

Great question! I am a little embarrassed to admit this, but he is based off my favorite character from an anime. (Atsushi Nakajima). I didn't add the hair on the ref because I wanted him to feel more of my own, while still having similarities!
But, after I received this amazing piece of art, I have embraced it more!

The colouring in that piece is so nice
Some hairstyles in anime/manga are really cool and interesting, I think it goes pretty well with a white tiger here

It’s probably another reason why magnetic could also be a good option if you wanted him to feel your own as well

Hoping to order fur soon, and I also need a balaclava. I got the fan in, so that is covered, but I am having a hard time deciding if I should make feetpaws as well. I only have a month until Halloween, after all, but that deadline isn't too important. I have not tried to make feetpaws before, so that would be a bit complicated and I need more foam, but I would prefer him to be a full partial eventually.

I say if you feel the motivation to try feet paws, go for it! I'm sure there are hundreds of video tutorials, from the easy to the complicated. Even if you don't get it done in time for Halloween, at least you have them started. And with that said, you're already well on your way to your goal for a full partial!

If you’re able to get his head done by Halloween, that’s already great! But I would second what @Star Of The Sea said. Sounds like great progress already to have that fan in :Flutter3:

Hobbling back in here to show off his eyelids! I decided to make them today while I wait on life to calm down a little. I have a lot of stuff this month, so I am hoping that once the fur comes in I can get him done. I have quite the shopping list!

Finally got the balaclava, magnets, and fur ordered! I splurged on some good strong magnets, but I want to make sure his hair won't fly off.

Ooh nice, they fit so snug. Are they magnetic or velcro? Would you plan on doing some fully closed eyelids too do you think?

Hooray! The fur for the stripes, right? How exciting, he’s almost done! :flutter2:

Yep! I tried color matching the best I could, but I don't mind if the colors are a little off. I'm so excited!

Here is the closed eyelids!!! This is such a good way to make use of my fur scraps. If I want to make happy eyelids I will need to get more Velcro, though!

Bad news, everyone... I stupidly decided to break up a fight with my cat and my sister's dog and I was bitten. Hard. Hard enough to send me to the ER and need x-rays... But thankfully no stitches yet. So, I don't know when I will be able to sew next... (Both cat and dog are fine, thank God!)

It’s okay, don’t rush and give yourself time to heal :flutter2: It might have not been a stupid decision if you didn’t know how badly it could have turned out for the pets if you didn’t break it up
