I finished my OC namesake custom: Luminary! Not surprisingly, "Luminary" is more colorful under a camera flash. They are eerily similar colors considering G1 is a white Windy with a four-hour dye job (Rit Dyemore frost gray/royal purple with four hours of boiling to remove the purple), and G3 is an unaltered Autumn Skye. I rehaired G1 with "marmalade" and Surprise's hair color for a streak, and dyed G3's blonde/orange hair with Rit "apricot." It is uniformly the color of a tomato.

"His" (I keep calling the G3 "her," because there were no G3 boys...but I guess "he" or "she" will work, lol. I'm an old school gay and call everybody "Girrrl!") hair is trimmed to the length of the 2019 G3 rereleases so the hair could be on the display side without covering the matching hoof heart. I chose Autumn Sky instead of a faded Tink-a-Tink-a Too for the heart, no point in covering it. Their eyes are a little scratched, but I'm fine with that, it makes it look like an old Hasbro pony I've owned forever.
G1 is the first pony I've rehaired in 16 years! I went through 5 needles, poked myself with one...in the FOOT , broke the fancy schmancy rerooting tool early on, and so anchored the needle in a paintbrush. G3's hair was dyed in under an hour. Her his tail, is also Surprise colored, and has one strand too long in these photos, which is now fixed.

They are pure blue-eyed ponies, because I needed to get over my obsession with violet eyes. But then again the ponies are periwinkle-gray, which is the color of violet eyes, anyway, and Autumn Skye has purple in her eyes. I know orange and green are an ...unusual... combo, but then I played it safe with the lavender body.

The symbol is hard to interpret, which was not intentional, but makes sense. The ambiguity matches the name and takes a while to figure out: it's a light bulb-with visible filaments, the screw-in bottom, and rays of light around it. G1's symbols do not look exactly the same on each side, in fact it's better on the non-display side. Not surprisingly, I just didn't have the skill to use glow paint, and even though I stuck with the luminous idea, my obsession with glow-in-the-dark toys turned out to be a phase, lol.

So...whaddya you guys think?

Theyre gorgeous!! I love the differences between the generations! Cant wait to see the others!

I've never rehaired a G2, but if I do that I can do Clever Clover myself (different hair, eye gems, symbol, and voila!). The G4 will have to be a commission. And thank you!
