G3 G3 Twirlerina's dark pink hair is disintegrating - anyone else?

I recently got a G3 Twirlerina from a thrift store. I was doing a round of pony cleaning, scrubbed her with soap and washed her hair. When it came to condition and comb her hair out, her tail held up just fine. When I got to her mane though, the dark pink hair in her forelock just came right out. I was horrified. Two swipes and she's suffering from mare pattern baldness. The light pink in her mane - the same hair as her tail - was just fine. The tinsel in the dark pink part of her mane didn't come out, either. Just the hair.

I quickly went to grab the other Twirlerina I have, and yes, she too is suffering from exploding dark pink hair. I had never noticed this before. Is this a known issue with this pony?? I know there are some G3 ponies that are known to have poor quality hair that falls apart in time. I guess Twirlerina is one of them. Check on yours!

I’ve not had this happen to me before but I’ve seen about something happening with some pink hair with that sort of shade? I don’t remember what ponies have this exactly but I remember seeing a Baby Tripsy Daisy having only the dark pink stripes come out and I think it also commonly has happened to… Baby Romperooni?

I’m not sure why it happens either… maybe there’s someone else who could say?

Ah, I’ve seen this before. I don’t think there’s a complete list of G3 ponies who suffer from it, but that particular color of pink hair is well known for breaking down. The exact same thing happened to me a couple weeks back on my baby Romperooni. For why it happens, I’ve heard that the hair was just low quality and broke over time or it had a weird interaction with the glue. Maybe we should try to compile a list of G3 ponies that are at risk for this problem? Here are ones I’ve seen so far:
Twirlerina, Tripsy Daisy, Baby Romperooni, Avon exclusives (Tea Lily and Jazz Matazz)

It's the color, unfortunately. G3 quality control wasn't always the best, but it's also unlikely that Hasbro could predict the material breakdown over time. Something in that particular color of the hair fiber just doesn't last.

This is the first time I've seen an afflicted Twilerina, though. Green Apple and the Avon exclusives are the most common victims. It's happened with other hair colors on the "budget" ponies (it's affecting my Sunrise), but the Heart Throb pink color is the most notorious.

Just checked and mine has all her hair plugs still, but I’ll be extra careful brushing her from now on
