Not sure if someone has already made a thread about this…

Just saw an instagram post from MLPMerch about a second series of NFT funko pops including daybreaker(!!!), applejack, king sombra and princess twilight. They look so cool but why did they have to be NFT releases… people will probably charge extortionate amounts for one like the previous series.

What are your guys’ opinions?:surprisepony:

Grahh… I have a lot of thoughts about funko (even outside of MLP since they make merch for other fandoms I’m in… some of their merch is cool but a lot of it is garbage or just really lazy. Don’t get me started on it cuz I could rant for hours. Very hit or miss.) so not surprised to hear they’re doing NFTs. Hate it. NFTs are generally horrible for the environment and basically have no positives, really disappointing.

I despise Nfts I wish they would just release them normally:hmph:
The sad thing is they did but the chances are so slim to even get one.

I say “sad” yet I have a strong dislike for Pops. Sad for the people who do like though

For those unsure about how this works, here’s the MLP Merch article for the first wave

I wouldn’t pay money for it but I don’t think it’s a bad idea that they’re making digital versions of funko pop, because it actually makes sense since they’re an actual collectible thing, unlike other stuff like how they made Charlie but my finger an NFT. Although real ones would be better I can see how mlp funko pops in the current year wouldn’t make much money like it would’ve in 2014

I'm so upset that the blight of NFTs is still getting all up in MLP's business. I can't even wrap my head around why they exist in the first place?

I've never been a massive fan of Funko Pops but if Applejack wasn't an NFT release I would consider getting her. I would never go near NFTs though.
