G5 G5 Chatter

Realistically they just don't have the correct musculature for supporting wings and for the strength those wings would need to lift a body. Like giving a human wings… we would need an extra set of pectorals, deltoids, lats, etc.

Ponies are just magic
Lack of "friendship magic" didn't stop the older ponies from flying.

@Truly_Scrumptious That is very cute! + She's got some pretty hair, bit of a shame its not gradient, but it at least looks thick and silky.

Moonbow is starting to win me over. Darn her.

I think it means literal magic, because (lore incoming) G5 is in the same world as G4 and G4 had this whole episode where G4 Tirek was stealing magic from the ponies. He started with unicorns and then as he collected more magic he gained the ability to take Pegasus “flight” and Earth Pony “strength” as well. This also had a side effect of all of them losing their cutie-marks. This all implies flight is a kind of literal magic in the G4 universe. And before Equestria was founded, when the ponies were separated by “race,” they each still had the ability to tend the land, fly, unicorns could raise the sun and moon, etc…all while being separated and hating each other. So it’s probably not friendship magic that gives them these abilities.
Later on in the series this got inconsistent. When another villain drained Equestria of its magic (in a completely different way) it only took away unicorn magic and magic from artifacts and monsters and such. Pegasi could still fly and Earth Ponies weren’t weak. And they all still had their cutie-marks…
So yeah anyway in this universe ALL ponies are just magic. Don’t question it. These are pastel horses with tattoos on their butts. Needing magic to fly doesn’t seem like a stretch. Random fun fact that just came to me, the Tinker Bell movies did a similar concept too! In those movies they actually need to regularly farm pixie dust and sprinkle it on themselves to be able to fly, even though they all have wings. And despite this they STILL need the wings to fly because if one of their wings is broken they can’t fly anymore. Sorry for the rambling I got excited.

Anyways, if I can get a spare Izzy I wanna see if I can customize her hair to have the gradient hair.

EDIT: MyLittlePony.com (redirects to Mylittlepony.hasbro.com) has gotten a complete overhaul! Short character descriptions of each new pony (including hobbies), not-yet-seen toys, coloring pages of the new ponies, etc. You have to click on a separate link to go back to G4 characters, but the main site is G5. There’s also a separate link for Pony Life, Equestria Girls, and G1 although like the old site the G1 portion is kinda bad, it’s really just the Mane 6 G1-ized with a mention of their G1 inspirations).
EDIT #2: BRUSHABLES

I actully do like the name Izzy as a nickname, its very cute. Also I've got a younger cousin named Isabelle.

Its just that I think Moonbow fits much better for a pony name, as its very pretty and whimsical, despite her theme having nothing to do with the moon, and it reminds me of the Rainbow Babies names. :satisfied:

Izzy Moonbow is kinduva mouthful impo.

No hitch brushable? Hasbro you cowards LOL

I think it's kind of adorable in that set that theyre wearing unicorn horn headbands.
Everyone but Hitch. Looks like Izzy stole his one so she can have two horns. Thief!

More blind bag molds, but this time it’s a combination of G4 and G5 and Hitch got replaced with Sunny’s dad. Honestly they should’ve added Hitch instead of having Trixie there, because I think it’s cool that both Argyle and Queen Haven are there. Plus that would even it out, so there’s an equal number on both sides.

So this set is extra interesting to me. First of all, it has nice art, I like how they have Maretime Bay and Ponyville collide in the background and the art of the Mane 6 in the bottom right is quite pretty (is…is that Imalou’s art?). However what interests me most is the the description. “Pony worlds come together!”
So what do you think, is it at all relevant to the movie or is it just a toy set with a gimmick to justify how it’s possible to package these characters together (and an ultimate advertisement)?

Pinkie and Sunny’s dad doing some weird laughs with each other while the others look on in confusion.

I kind of like these figures but at the same time, why does Hitch keep getting kicked out of things? He’s not in the brushables club and he doesn’t get a unicorn headband

Boys in MLP really went from “same hair as the girls” to “troll hair” to “no brushable hair at all.”

Thinking about how Sunny has the mane 6 in her room as figures, there’s gotta be something going on here. In the teaser when the new gang walked in to that tree house where the date came up on screen I did wonder if they went to Twiley’s home in Ponyville but I could be dead wrong. I haven’t seen FiM in years so my memory may be off

Oh the Golden Oak Library! That was destroyed :( Replaced with a kind of hideous castle (and the playset doesn’t stay together AGH. Falls apart all the time. Thank god my parents got it for me on sale back then). And I think that happened early enough in the series that G5 staff would know about it, since it happened before G5 started being developed.
The Mane 6 were definitely past icons that Sunny and her father looked up to, it was confirmed in the newest MLP Annual. But I have to wonder, does this set confirm there’s like…something more going on than it just being in the distant future of Equestria? Like parallel dimensions? Or do they, like…go into the past in the movie? Or is it just a “timelines collide just for this set so that we can package them together!” Thing?

Wow, I missed out on a lot. I ended up not being able to keep up with the series around the time after Twiley got wings. I quite liked her Hundred Acre Wood style library

What I find funny yet sad is that they didn’t even make a playset of the Golden Oak Library until after it was already gone in the show for quite a few years. Hasbro confuses me.

I've moved all the chatter from the G5 news over here.

Please know that I have been keeping track of all things new and will add to the news section as soon as possible. I am but one person and do still have a life outside of the MLPTP

If you think I have missed anything, please send me a dm rather than clogging the boards with new products we will likely be getting a lot of updates over the next few months.

I’m definitely not referring to friendship magic. I’m of the opinion that all ponies are magical. Even real live ones.
