It's that time of year again!

You all know how much I love to cook and I'm always on the hunt for new yummy recipes to try. Several years ago I thought, wouldn't it be cool to have a recipe box/book with shared recipes from members from here and thus, Gingerbread's annual recipe exchange was born, going on year 12!

So are you ready to sign up!

Here's how it goes:

~ Everyone who signed up would be responsible for doing at least 2 recipes. You will have to send your 2 recipes to all the other members who participate. Just keep in mind if we have 6 participants that'll be 12 recipe cards you have to do. *But it'll be worth it when you get all your lovely cards!

~ Recipes must be done on recipe cards or recipe card sized paper. For example if you wanted to do yours on the computer that'd be ok as long as you cut them to card size, about 4x6 inch seems to be the standard.

~ I encourage people to embellish their recipe cards, maybe with stickers, pictures, bust out those glitter pens, we like pretty pony recipe cards! Do whatever you like to make your cards as unique and wonderful as you!

~ When you title your recipe put your member name on it. For example I could call mine; "Gingerbread's Italian Creme Cake", that way everyone would remember which cards came from who.

I made a pony themed binder for my cards. But a card box would be a cute idea too. Here's a pic of mine...

Important Dates!!

Sign-ups will be until Sat., July 31st

You will receive participant's addresses by Sun., Aug. 1st

Cards will need to be mailed out no later than Sat., Aug. 21st

I've given 3 weeks to make and ship cards cause I know things still aren't 100% "back to normal" and life is always throwing us stuff. However, this is always a fun swap more people can do since it doesn't call for as much purchasing or expensive shipping. If for any reason your cards will be late getting mailed please message me so at least I know and don't think you've dropped out.

If you are interested in joining message me your address by the sign-up deadline. Requirements are that you must have been a member here for at least 2 months or have accumulated some positive feedback for me to consider. This is a good opportunity for some newer members who haven't accumulated any feedback yet to have a chance to earn some for future swaps and trades. If you have any questions about being eligible to participate feel free to message me. I may consider Arena or eBay feedback for newer members.

Also, please let me know if you have any particular allergies to certain foods. It's not required that all participant's recipes take these into account but it would be the nice pony-thing to do. Please at least include some of your recipes that all participants could use. I will note next to each person's name any allergies.

I look forward to seeing everyone's cards! The ones we exchanged in previous swaps were lovely and I can't wait to do this again.

I don’t really have any recipes of my own to share so I won’t be joining, but I’m sure it’ll be a lot of fun :)
I just wanted to point out that it says the sign up date is June 31st, if you wanted to correct it so no baking ponys get confused

I'd love to be involved, but I know the postage would be bonkers. It's there any possibility of doing a digital version? So say, people "sending" to me could take a scan of a recipe card they have made and I would "send" scans? I know it isn't anywhere near as fun as receiving the handmade version, but still a way to share for those of us on the other side of the world. Plus I am still on a boat and hardly even know what a post office is these days haha

Although, all my fav recipes are at home so maybe it is best for me to stay out this year.

But maybe somehow a digital version for future?

Hmmm, it's something to consider for the future. If you really want to participate @Mich I can try to work something out with you but if you don't have your recipes handy I understand if you wanna wait til next year. What you got cooking on that boat?!? :p

That's actually a very good idea! Some people keep digital cook books anyway. I like to have a hard copy to hold and get dirty but I can always print and paste!!

This was so much fun last year! I would love to participate again but I will be having an address change for school later next month after the deadline. But, I hope that you guys have lots of fun!

You don't have to worry about that! I've never had alcohol, and I never plan to!
So there will be no booze in my drinks!
Edit I've decided I'm not entering, but I do want to send you my family's most treasured recipe.

If you wish to join Sky we don't have to get international stamps especially, we can just use 3 regular ones :)
