Gingerbread's kitchen

Congratulations on your blue ribbons

Gingerbread for the win! Congratulations on your blue ribbons! :)

I had my annual pumpkin carving party Friday :pumpkin: I didn't get pictures of the full spread before all the ghoul-friends tore into it LOL but I took a couple teaser pictures. I had made, meatballs, bacon wrapped smokies, buffalo chicken dip, deviled eggs, my famous cheesesteak egg rolls, getting fried up here,

and chocolate cupcakes and probably a couple other things I forgot LOL

and I must give a shout out to @OctoberMoon who sent me a fun Halloween surprise, getting my kitchen extra festive :purpleheart: thank you friend!

Did you say ‘cheesesteak egg rolls’?

Looks delicious as always!! Those tomato rolls especially!! Glad you liked the ghosty gift! I want to see the pumpkins, lol.

Did you say ‘cheesesteak egg rolls’?

Mmmhmm, I love eggrolling anything. I've done breakfast egg rolls with potato, egg, cheese and bacon (with sausage gravy for dippin') and I've done thanksgiving egg rolls with thanksgiving leftovers, I'll literally throw anything in there LOL

*whew* momentary break, I forgot why, do I have something in the oven? no, something is cooling? I honestly don't remember! I think I just zoned out and had to get out of the kitchen o_O

I don't know why I think 14 people need this much food. We don't and yet, here I go, making everything  what have I made, you might ask? Well, lets see if I can even remember it all...

mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, a vegan sweet potato casserole, corn pudding, green bean casserole, a vegan green bean casserole, cranberry relish, lima beans, broccoli, celery stick appetizer things, party crackers, deviled eggs and a ham.

tomorrow is turkey, stuffing, gravy and rolls.

but let's talk dessert, this might be the most pies I've ever done, why did I do so many?? I dunno, I kept going, oh' one of those would be good and oh' one of those would be good and next thing I know... all the pies! but wait! you need something to break up the pie monotony so we make a couple other non-pie desserts. Wanna know the line up? Can you think of 12 different pies? Well here ya go...

toffee chocolate chip pie, sweet potato pie, pumpkin pie, peach pecan pie, blueberry streusel pie, toll house pie, pecan pie, apple pie, cinnamon walnut pie, chocolate chess pie, vegan brownie peanut butter pie and indiana sugar pie.

and to break up the pie, we have jello lime salad and a cinnamon pumpkin dump cake. Cause yeah, sure, why not.

Seriously, what is wrong with me  my kitchen looks like Hiroshima at the moment but I will get some pics in tomorrow before the savages I mean, FAMILY come ;)

All this with no eye candy for your pony pals who can only eat with their eyes!?!??? Blasphemy I say!! Utter blasphemy!!

But as always I will say, your baking and cooking is on par with my desire for pristine wrapping and shipping. This year I can’t decide on my paper theme and it’s already stressing me out.

Omg I didn't know most of these pies were a thing..... I want to try so many of these
I wonder though, you're saying it's overkill but I wonder how much of it will actually be left afterwards?

-holds up my ingredients to make my green bean casserole tomorrow- I’m not worthy in the presence of the pony cooking goddess

Thank goodness I’m making only one thing lol - last year shark and I cooked it all cause my mom had knee replacement surgery

You sound a little delirious right now, you might need to go lie down and take a break. Watch some TV or play some calming game of hungry shark or something like that. I'd come over and eat help if I was closer. Seriously though, you went all out, your family is lucky to have you.

Anyone that shows up is welcome at my home on Thanksgiving!

Now that my kitchen is in order and I've had some time to relax with the SNL Thanksgiving special I am primed and ready for tomorrow. Gonna get some good sleep and then it's pretty smooth sailing, turkey is easy peasy and then it's really just topping the casseroles and popping them back in the oven.

I promise pics tomorrow :)

I do like to send everyone home with plenty, cause we all know, late that evening or the next day is when you're sitting at home in your pjs wishing you had some leftovers LOL so I like to make sure they have pickins' for later ;)

As promised, some eye feasting for ya ;)

There were so many desserts I set up a folding table just for them, and even needed a pie list LOL this wasn't even all of them, the rest were still in the fridge. The new favorites this season were the toffee chocolate chip and blueberry streusel.

IMG_9409.JPG IMG_9410.JPG IMG_9411.JPG IMG_9412.JPG IMG_9413.JPG

As for dinner, turkey, ham and all the fixen's you could want. Again, this isn't even everything, the rolls and the ham were still warming in the oven.

IMG_9415.JPG IMG_9416.JPG IMG_9417.JPG IMG_9418.JPG IMG_9414.JPG

And the snacks on the bakers rack.

Lastly, just so you know when you finally do come to visit Gingerbread, I insist you take home a plate. However, my to-go plates are more like platters ;) and you know, you need 2. One for dinner and 1 for dessert! This started years ago, I used to buy cute to-go containers but they're small and you need like dozens of them. Plus I'm one of those people that's funny about food touching so considering you can get these from the dollar store and reuse them it's much more convenient! Just cover with some wrap (I like press n' seal) and you're good to go!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving, I love feeding people and when my family and friends are sitting around all happy and full and comfy content it makes all the work worth it :happyhearts: although to be honest, they'd be just as happy and full and comfy content with even 1/4 of what I cook! LOL just happy to have everyone safe and healthy and together :orangeheart:
