Well this is #20: Glittery Glowing Magic Luminary, and it's seven months to the day that I completed my first one. I have made 27 customs in seven months! Now I still have one to finish for a friend, but I'm taking my time on it, and I have some health-related stuff to focus on. I'm like that, one thing rules my life for a brief period and I overwork myself. As for Luminary, I took several pics in the light to show the glittery effect. Promise, I did not customize a real Glowing Magic pony; the cheapest petite on eBay actually fit all my needs.

27 in 7 months! That's amazing! And it's amazing how much they glow! Do take care of yourself!

i always love seeing all your different takes on your ponysona. so many variations yet all unique :redheart: (the glow in the dark aspect makes these even better)

Thanks for all the support, everyone. It's beautiful how customizing isn't a competitive sport, but a craft and artistic medium that allows for everyone to shine equally, whatever one's skill level or favorite type of custom. Art is a form of communication meant to express what is subjective and individual. I mean selling art will always challenge the ego, but just choosing ponies to customize as a medium says enough about creativity. I think pony collecting, once considered borderline insane, has become cutting edge and cool. But that's not why we do it, and that's how it became that way. Somewhere in our dreamscape we are all ponies.

After getting off the medication that made me gain too much weight to pursue the fitness stuff that I loved I am free to start again. I am now, as expected, on a weight loss journey so I can be me again. I mean I am me now, just stronger and wiser...but by "me" i mean the guy who wears side-split marathon shorts *everywhere,* lol. It's going to take some time, though, maybe a full year. And I'm looking forward to it. I only want to lose enough weight to be thirty years old.

Is it okay if I make another separate post of the whole army (when i get around to it)? it will be in categories: in the light and then in the dark/glowing pics of the seven G1s; the five Big Brothers, the four G2's, the three G3's, and the G4. Most have not been shown after I altered them, so technically they are new pictures. I used glow in the dark thermal finger guards to give G2 Secret Surprise Luminary open-hooved sandals ;).

I really appreciate you guys, so please be safe if the weather where you are is crazy.

I would LOVE to see the whole glowy crew!!

Your customs show such dedication and love to an OC, it’s so nice to see. Your ponies in glow-mode is so cool!

And yes, go ahead, make an army thread! I don’t think you really need to ask :lolpony:

i have plenty of customs of my OC pony, but i have yet to make one of my own, so i commend you on all your work!

I do have one in mind to make, im just really bad at panting lol so it worries me

I guess the first thing I wanted to do with my OC was make him, so I wound up working within my limitations. I also wanted him to look like an actual toy, so he had a simple design.

For painting I learned to draw on the pony with pencil and a white eraser first and then paint along the lines. you could draw the patterns and paint over the lines for your pony, or even try dying it brown/tan and then paint the white parts on. Then you wouldn't need to do much with the eyes (i find eyes difficult). I only dye ponies gray, black, or certain shades of blue, though, as I'm worried the other colors would rub off eventually. Maybe sealing a dyed pony could keep the dye on there.

Sometimes Luminary "chose" a trait i didn't plan on: he turned purple, or he turned very dark, he had a symbol that looked like a four year old drew it, or the mane curled so nicely i had to leave it really long. After making a few, it became more apparent what a non-variant would like and his identity just jumped out.
