Hey, hey! I'm a once & future Pony Mom~
I had two of the 1st generation ponies (and a dragon from the OG show) as a wee'un. Unfortunately, I parted with them against my will long ago  turning 30 and it hits me, "HEY, I don't have to be ponyless anymore!"
Going to get the two I lost one day, but have ordered some others in the meantime:tongue: very excited to welcome them home! Used to watch the original show a little, avoided FiM for...reasons, but really would like to watch it eventually.

Anyway, wasn't expecting to get involved in the community, but I've had such wonderful interactions with MLP fans over the past few weeks that & realized I was short-changing myself if I didn't <3 This is such a kind, compassionate & generous community that I'm really looking forward to meeting & interacting with all y'all~

Welcome to the mlp trading post! I had to start over (I was over 30), too! Luckily my daughter likes them, so she got me sucked right in. We've got an awesome diverse group here, I'm glad you joined! I'm looking forward to pictures of your ponies when they arrive. :)

Welcome to the herd

Hello @quartz_ welcome to the MLPTP. I'm excited that you've taken the plunge and joined our community here. :flutter2:

Do you remember what ponies you had as a child? I always think it's interesting when people say that they remember a certain pony from their childhood's that have stuck with them over the years. I look forward to seeing you around and getting to know you. :)

Thank you, everyone~

@Tak Glad that so many people seem to find their way back  a lot of toys were just that, toys. but even fancier horsey toys just didn't have the spirit that MLP did. Maybe something about the eyes?
That's awesome that you get to share that magic with your own daughter now! Does she like the older ones? I don't really talk to the young children in my extended family, so I'm always curious if kids actually like the older designs compared to the newer ones.
I'm glad I joined too! It's been pretty fun checking out the threads in here; you aren't kidding about the 'diverse' part, there's a lot going on at once! :flutter2:
I was considering posting pix when they arrive. I guess those go in Show & Tell?

Thank you both!

My daughter collects the original so soft ponies right now. She doesn't play with them much, but she just adores nice flocking. We stopped collecting the newest ones when the movie came out and the changed the body style. We have almost all from before then, though. She really loves the generation 2 babies as well.

@Skybreeze Thank you<3<3<3 I am too! I haven't joined a forum in ages & was definitely a little hesitant at first.
I just figured it out a few days ago; I had Starglow & Streaky as a kid. It breaks my heart that Starglow seems so expensive/hard to find, but I'll have her back eventually :winkpony: Saving up for Streaky, who I lost my first or second baby tooth on in Kindergarten >_< long story short, I had a habit of gnawing on her horn. Secretly hoping to find one whose horn has a bunch of tiny bite marks XD
It is really interesting, isn't it? I was looking through the lists on Ponyland Press and every once in a while, one will jump out at me that my neighbor or classmate had. Like seeing old friends you completely forgot about *^-^*
Thank you so much, I really love the vibe that's been cultivated here. Everyone is so nice and friendly:tongue:it's a wonderful change from what I'm used to elsewhere lol

Welcome to the MLPTP! Absolutely you don't have to be pony-less! You're a grown up now so you can buy all the toys you want LOL I pulled my ponies back out when I got into my late teens/early twenties and slowly but surely their numbers grew! They can be addicting, they're just so darn cute! Next thing you know they've taken over your house!

@Tak Awesome! I haven't seen a ton of love for flocked or G2 ponies. Your daughter has good taste!
Oh, I wasn't aware that they changed the body style at any point in the newer generation. I need to pay closer attention
Your combined collection must be enormous:surprisepony:<3

@Gingerbread Thank you!! <3:smile:<3 I have a pretty serious jones for collecting in general. Just stuff that I like. So when the Pony Bug bit me I was pretty anxious about it *^-^; I don't even have room for all the stuff I've bought right now...
I like hearing about how many other people had the "A-hah!" moment & decided that Ponies were a necessity in adult life :lolpony: I want to see everyone's collections~ How many would you guess you had off the top of your head? I'm picturing a house with a pony in every nook and cranny...and I totally don't hate that image:ponylove:

I have almost 600, I actually have a pony room so they aren't in all the nooks and crannies of my house LOL I have a habit of collecting stuff in general too but I'm also a little OCD so everything has to be organized and displayed in a way that won't make my brain itch LOL For example I have a shelf of Barbie, that's okay to be in the pony room because it is on the opposite wall of all the pony stuff. It's all about organized chaos LOL

OH LAWD :surprisepony: PLEASE tell me that you have pictures of absolutely everything. I want to see your set-up soooooo bad:flutter2: if it's not too much trouble ^-^

We used to have over 2000, but vet bills had me sell most of them. We're around 200 now. When I say each g4, we only got one of each character. After the third or fourth round of the mane six, we lost interest in those characters. Now I collect mostly purple ponies or super long hair and my girl with her ss. I'll try to get some pictures.

Over 2000??!o_O that's phenomenal!!! So sorry that you had to sell them, especially for vet bills  I hope your furry/feathery/scaly family member is doing better by now, though. Medical costs for animals & humans have certainly taken a considerable portion of my finances over the past few years. No laughing matter.
200 is still pretty impressive! Probably a lot more manageable too :winkpony:
Mane six :tongue:that's so cute, I love pony humor
Understandable, I watched a documentary on the fandom a while ago and it's pretty sad that they don't focus on making lots of different characters anymore. I understand that decision but I don't have to like it XD
There has to be a list somewhere of figure statistics that factors in the most used colors and features. I haven't many purple ponies, or at least can't think of many off the top of my head. Definitely enjoy the ones with longer manes! Not a huge fan of the flocked ones myself, but I've never enjoyed velvety textures on any surface.
Hooray for pictures:flutter2:no rush of course, but I'm sure others would love to see your updated collection as well

Welcome And Have Fun
@Sunkissed Thank you!!

It was worth it. He's my service dog. ;) I'll post my collection in a new brag thread, that way maybe others will share, too, and this thread won't go completely sideways. :)

My room is getting a little revamp, I had to start reorganizing so I could find a way to fit more in LOL I do have a thread in the show and tell of updates as they happen and then when it's all done I'll have a big reveal :)

I really need to buckle down and do that too ^-^;
I have space for maybe four ponies in my kawaii korner and that's about it until I get more risers.
Ooooooh I am hunting down that thread and watching it with a bowl of popcorn :winkpony:

Welcome to the board! Sorry to be late to the party, but I showed up eventually! :D
