Hi, everybody! I've been collecting ponies since I was three (give or take). My pony collection was dormant for a long while and then I moved to a place where I had room to display all of them. Since then, my pony collection has expanded dramatically. Especially since my sister, a mad garage-saling genius, sent me 69 ponies this year. Most of them were G3, but I know very little about that generation (I'm way more into G1 and G2). I own a smattering of G4s, but they honestly aren't my favorite. Though I'll be honest - I was really into the blind bag ponies for a while. (I pretend that G3.5 simply never existed.)

I've done a few customs in my time, though they are quite amateurish. Though my custom G2, Nightshade, I'm rather proud of (despite the fact that you can see the touch-ups I did after painting her...stupid paint marker. She was still a really cool concept and overall, looks pretty good.) My other custom I'm considering stripping the paint from and re-doing. Then I have a custom-in-progress called Turtle Power, whose symbol is the weapons of the Ninja Turtles. (I like TMNT, but don't collect the figurines because I only have enough time and energy for one collection at a time. Though my mom did suggest that I could have the Turtles action figures riding the MLPs. I nixed that idea, funny a mental picture as it is.)

Then, more recently, I got into the idea of restoring MLPs. I had a pretty messed up and stained Moondancer, but couldn't seem to get the stains out with anything (this was before I heard of Remove-Zit and all that good stuff.) So I pained her a crisp, slightly warm off-white and redid her faded symbol in glitter. She looks pretty good, as long as you don't look too closely and see the brush marks where they are accidentally a little obvious. I gave her a satin varnish, so she is a little shiny, but not terribly so. I'm pretty proud, though I wish I had done more research and tried a little more patience with the other fading methods. (A week in peroxide with sunlight didn't touch it...so I gave up. How foolish of me.) Anyway, I have a Baby Moondancer going through the same painting process, and she has much smoother paint. I was about to do a similar thing to a Peppermint Crunch I'm calling "The Joker" because some kid colored this super creepy smile on her and messed up her face. But now that I know about Remove-zit and have learned a lesson in patience, I'm going to try going a different route. Plus, she needs rehairing. Heretofore, I've been using embroidery floss for missing tails (I think it's kind of cute) but now I'm going to try Dollyhair.com.

Some of my prized G1 pieces include a Medley in lovely condition, a gorgeous year 3 Cherries Jubilee, all four of the glitter babies, and a nearly-perfect SS Gusty. Medley has always been my favorite G1, and the others I just really like. I also have some ponies who've seen better days, but I don't restore them unless I have another copy. I'm concerned about devaluing them for some reason...at least for my personal collection. I mostly try to keep them as close to their original condition as I can unless I have one in better condition. (My Tootsie, for example, just has an edgy modern haircut and Skyrocket has a cute bob. Maybe if I get better condition ones, I will rehair the ones I have now, but until then, they are staying the way they are. I'm not a perfectionist.)

Anyway, my current herd count is at 343 (that's all my G1, G2, and G3, including PonyVille and Blind Bag ponies), but I have some more ponies in the mail from eBay. (When that get's here, I'll officially have every G1 from Year 2.)

As for non-pony life, I write original fiction, fan fiction (though not MLP fan fiction), wait tables, and do volunteer work in my church. I have an awesome husband who keeps letting my buy ponies (for Christmas last year he gave me like 10 blind bags). We don't have kids, which means that for now I don't have to yell at anybody to keep their grubby little mitts off my ponies. Though, I do have a box of duplicates that the kids I babysit get to play with.

Happy Holidays and a Merry Christmas to everyone, and I look forward to talking to all of you in the forums!

Merry Christmas to you too. Its nice to meet you. I would love to customize but I have not gotten started with that yet. I have a lot of ideas swirling in my head though. I want to learn to rehair. I like G1 the most, then G3 and BB figures of the G4 line only. How wonderful that your husband gets you ponies. Mine does the same thing. He keeps my BB figures up to date, but I am way behind because somehow they released so many and, I could not keep up. I have heard of Remove-Zit but I have never tried it. Does it bleach out the color? Its funny when I get a pony that has lipstick stains. LOL
I know you will enjoy this forum. Glad you joined. I use to teach Sunday School at my church, but I have had to take a break from doing that. I was also involved in Stephen Ministry for a while.

Welcome to the board! How wonderful to hear about your collection. It sounds like a lovely herd! But... no love for G3.5s? Ah, my poor unloved big headed mutant Ponies! I will take them all!

Good to meet you Medley09. Would love to see your customs, restores and herd.

Hello & welcome! What an amazing collection you have!! So many beautiful ponies!
