hair for plush ponies?

ok I want to make some custom plush ponies, but i have no idea where to get hair from? i dont want to use yarn, and id love to use hair similar to real mlp plush (the old ones) anyway if anyone can help id really appreciate it

I use Restoredoll hair (restoredoll.com) for my plushies. Just because I insist on it being the best quality and I didn't want to use yarn either It's silkier than real pony hair though. There are places that sell hair that is pretty similar to real MLP though. One I think is ragdolly.com. I'm sure other people can tell you more but that's the only one I can think of.

BabySeaShimmer...can you tell me about how much hair you get in a bunch? I need to rehair a plush and its just doesn't give an idea on the website about how much hair it really is...for a plush would I need one two or even three bunches? (like a vintage 80s plush)

On my plushies I usually use about 1 whole regular skein for the tail (usually some ends up getting cut off though when I trim it, but to start it's a whole skein). The mane is usually about 1-1 1/2 skeins (also ends up shorter after trimming). I would probably buy 3 skeins just incase. When I do a plushie with solid color hair, I usually just buy a set of large format skeins and it ends up being just right. I love your sig btw! The little plushies are so cute! hehe!

Thanks! yes, it's called katsilk or saran, something like that. Restoredoll only sells one kind and it's the best IMO, just not identical to real MLP hair.
