Hey! I'm new here and starting by introducing myself! In my search for all the MLP, I came across this forum and knew I had to try to join. Growing up, my mom never wanted to get me any ponies so I was stuck only playing with them at my cousins house.

Fast forward to adulthood, I started buying the basic fun ponies from target for my daughter who is 3 and loves all thing MLP. There are so many beautiful ponies out there and I realized I can totally start collecting them for myself too! I can't wait to get to know everyone on here as well and thanks for having me!

Welcome @Shellbell , that's what my dad calls me! It's a little pet name for me. I'm glad you are here pony friend! We have lots of fun discussing and showing off our ponies. You will have fun.

Hi! Welcome to the mlptp. Nice to meet you. My daughter started her collection at age two. She’s still collecting with me now and she just turned 12!

Hi! It’s nice to meet you :lolpony: I wonder why she didn’t want you to have ponys of your own? But it’s great that you were able to start collecting them later on

I think she may have been trying to push a feminist agenda? She either discouraged or limited toys like barbie, baby dolls, or MLP. Its understandable, I guess but maybe a little misguided. Oh well! I still love my pony pals!

Welcome to the MLPTP fellow pony lover!

Well, you will have to tell your mom she was misguided. As the story goes Bonnie Zacherle the inventor of MLP wanted to make a kids toy that wasn't domestically driven and her idea was originally rejected by her boss, a man, telling her girls just wanted to play with baby dolls and housekeeping toys!

I think it’s silly to discourage a kid from playing with any toy (as long as it’s not dangerous or something) but I guess some parents do that. Good thing your cousin had them so you still got to play with them some! :D

So glad to have you join the fun, Shellbell! Delighted to meet you!
