I'm a new one, very pleased to find you. I'm French, 44 years-old and a collector of MLP G1 for less than a year.
My first ponies were Peachy and her playset, Blue Belle and North Star. I found North Star so fantastic with her wings.

@Jellybean : I don't have goals. I buy ponies that I like, keeping an eye on the price :). I'm looking for bargains because I'm able to restore toys. Ponies G1 collection may be expensive quickly so all is a question of price and my abilities or not to restore. If I can find ponies in good condition with no or less restoration for a good price, it's awesome ! Little by little, I'm completing the different series of ponies because I love them all :):redheart:
I'd like to find more "nirvana" ponies such as greek, peruvian, colombian etc ponies. I have a few.

That sounds nice and relaxed! Yes, G1 have become surprisingly expensive! I actively collected them between 1999 and 2008, and then my collection went into storage until 2022 when I reconnected with them and fell in love again. :) Prices between then and now have risen quite a bit! I also love bargains and restoration, but I have limited stamina for scrubbing ponies nowadays because of a chronic shoulder pain problem. So, I must be choosy, and what we here call "spa days" (meaning: giving a pony a special treatment of cleaning, hair styling, and possibly restoration) happen infrequently for my ponies.
 
Welcome to the MLPTP! I often wonder how hard or easy searching for G1 ponies in other countries is? Do you have many thrift shops that you can find them in or do you end up buying them online? I think it would be fun to go pony hunting in other countries!
