I was working with a G3 Baby Romperooni today and had the strangest thing happen. As I was washing and brushing her hair, it started to fall out. It was coming out of her head but also splitting apart into smaller pieces. The weirdest part… it is only happening with her pink hair. The orange and white sections are completely fine, but the pink in both her mane and tail is affected. Does anyone know what could cause this? The only thing I’ve done to her mane is soak it in fabric softener for a few minutes to help with the frizz.

for some reason, pink hair seems to encounter all the problems. :( i remember washing my old Romperooni and had no issues with her hair, personally, but then again i also didn't brush out her hair much as she was being sold for bait anyway. hopefully you can fix this!

Yes I have had this problem with her three times I've been trying to get a good condition of her but ever time I come across her she seems to have this problem I've yet to figure out why she got this but make me sad that even the one I had wen I was little has the same problem

Thanks for letting me know! It’s too bad it’s a widespread problem, I’ll have to be careful of this in the future.

I think I may have discovered the source of the balding when I cleaned my Baby Romperooni just yesterday! I'm removing the metal parts on the tails of any G3s that have metal washers and clasps. As it so happens, when I opened the metal clasp for Baby Romperooni, the pink strand was cut in half, so the clasp was holding it in place! I'm ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN I did not cut it while opening the clasp. (For the record, never clipped the tails of my G1s when I cleaned them...)

If I come across any others with that issue, I'll let y'all know.

After a bit more research it seems like Baby Romperooni and a few other ponies (especially ones with that neon pink color) have widespread hair defects. I’ll have to open up my Baby Romperooni and see what’s going on in there!

If you do, please share your findings. I'm curious if its pink hair is also cut under the metal clasp. Of if there is something else going on entirely!
This is so strange...
