RC is a horse who has been in my life for 24 years. RC stands for Res-Cew, as he was both neglected and abused before my 4-H leader rescued him. At first, when I would brush his legs, he would fall to the ground, because he seemed to be afraid of being whipped. I helped train him, and was the first person to ride him. I took him to many horse shows and on trail rides. Even after I got my own horse, I took RC to shows for a while first, because he was safer than my horse. There was not a mean bone in RC's body.
He had a lifetime of health challenges, particularly with eating. He had an elongated epiglottis, which meant he had to be watched closely when eating grain. And of course, he needed grain and supplements because he always had issues keeping on weight. Anyway, this sweet, sweet boy was put down yesterday, as he had been going downhill the last several months, and medications and treatments by the vet weren't enough. So, a few days earlier, I went to see him one last time, and did a photo shoot. It was hard to look happy, but I wanted a good pic of us for facebook. Believe me, I hugged him and cried hard into his mane later. I am really really struggling with this loss.
Here's why I came to the MLPTP. Of course, I took a ton of selfies. Have you ever tried to selfie with a horse? It's not easy. I would cut most of myself or him out. There is only one that I like, but his ears are back, and I'm not thrilled with how his nose is cut out. I have a couple others of his face that I like, without me in them, so I tried putting one together. I can't for the life of me get the colors right. He looks fine, but I don't. I tried dulling down his color, but I still look like I have a blue hue. I could be ok with the first one if his ear was changed to forward. Can anyone try to do a better job than I did? I would appreciate it sooooo much. Here is one of the pics:
And here is a link to a folder with this as a larger file size and other pics of RC, including my attempts:
