Hi from a newbie!

Well, to this site, not quite MLP! I'm 27, he/him, and have been for years an avid collector of Breyer horses and an artist. As a kid i was obsessed with G3 ponies and had tons of them, but as i grew at one point i decided to part with them and sold my collection to a family friend. I had always loved the shows, movies and shorts and that never stopped, but FiM is where i started to really miss my ponies. After a lot of big life changes, my current partner (and fiance!) is very accepting and encouraging, and so i started looking into how much ponies were going for these days with the idea that i would like to find that one perfect pony, just to have for sentimental value. This led me to discover HQG1s which were- and are- fascinating and i really enjoyed watching people make gorgeous customs, but kept telling myself i was satisfied with that and didn't need any of my own. Then i found this site while researching what all goes into customizing or restoring ponies if i should buy a more beat up one that needed some help, and was so excited to see that things are pretty active! And *then*, well...this week my first HQG1 blank arrived, along with some dye and some hair supplies that should start arriving tomorrow. So you could say things snowballed LOL.

I'm really excited to share my custom pony here, and maybe more in the future as i have really enjoyed the process so far and the possibilities of it all.
 
Welcome! I just came back after a reaaaaallly long hiatus so we will both be newbies! I love Breyers too! It is wonderful to have a partner who is supportive of your hobbies. HQG1c's are a recent discovery for me, also. They've really done wonders for the customizing hobby and it's so inspiring. I'm looking forward to seeing what you make!

Thank you all so much!!! I got a clear glitter blank on the rearing unicorn. I'll be sharing photos of him now in the customs forum! He's still a bit bald, but that will be fixed this week :tongue:
