How did you get into MLP collecting?

This one is Flower Flash, right? I can see the resemblance.

Sorry I left the conversation last night - I put a good dent in my pricing project. The end is in sight and then I will be ready for the show!!

Minty is a cool pony, she really is. She managed to easily become a favorite of mine from the G3 line.
I am sorry that you did not get McDonald ponies - they completely flooded our pony market here in the states :lolpony:

I think a lot of G3's were released with turning heads and they even advertised it on the box,

No problem at all! I ended up going to bed was kinda late hehe
Minty is a cool pony! I'm not sure why I like her or if my brain really is getting confused with the cutness of baby Flower Flash.
We might of had them I'm not entirely sure, I was kinda out of collecting at that time there are a few ponies I didn't even collect at that point too and missed out. I was able to get them now.
Oh they were? Huh... Mine are already posed and stuck I only have a handful that have their heads move. Interesting :D I wonder what the difference is? I assumed they were playset ponies.

I was born in '84 so ponies were around, I started getting a few for bday/xmas and It. Was. ON. I was absolutely obsessed, ponies were my thing! I probably had around 100. Eventually I ended up needing to sell a lot of them to help me get out of a bad relationship.

A few years after that I came across a bunch of ponies at an antique store that were about $2 each, and I couldn't just leave them there! That inspired me to start getting back the ones I had sold, buuut of course that led to finding ones I had always wanted but never had, ones I had never seen before but were soooo pretty, etc etc lol!

Then I realized I also love G3, they're so much cuter than I remember them being when they were first coming out! And so now I have around 300 ponies

Um, I stated collecting when I was younger as a kid. I then as a teen gave away all my ponies to some person. Thinking back on it, I never kept my favourite pony, Surprise. I was left with two recent herd members. Now I still have a big collection. I love my ponies. They remind me of my childhood long ago.

One day, back in late 2003, I was in the toy aisle. I'd been spending more time there, as I had a toddler and an infant. I saw the 2-packs at Target, on an end cap. I decided to purchase two of them, as I'd always wanted My Little Pony's, but back in the 80s, it wasn't feasible. I thought I'd buy those two 2-packs, and that'd be it. Little did I know.

Through the magic of the internet, I discovered there were a lot more out there. Those first 4 started me on the path of collecting G3. Then in 2004, my husband created an ebay account, and suddenly G1s were showing up in the mail.

G3's led to G1's, G4's, G2's, and G5's. I've expanded into plush, ornaments, and merchandise. I haven't counted them in a while, but the count is over 2000! My husband calls my displays in the basement the "Pony Shrine".

My then 2-year-old daughter (now 22) followed her mother into the pony madness. She likes all generations, and still has her childhood collection.

It's no surprise that my then infant son (now 20) also joined in the madness. He prefers the small ponyville-size G3 and G4 and the mini G5's. He also still has his childhood collection.
