How Do I Clean a Pony that's Dirty Inside?

Most ponies are generally hollow inside due to the manufacturing and molding process
and the factories' attempt to cut down on the cost of materials:

According to Liz (and Bonnie confirmed this), when they first made the original 6 Ponies (Cotton Candy, Minty, etc.) they noticed that they kept falling over on their faces because their heads were too heavy and the Ponies weren’t balanced. To solve this issue, someone in the office suggested putting a weight on the inside of the pony near the Pony’s back legs so it would stand upright without falling on its nose. The end solution was the tail washer, which was also incorporated into how the hair was installed to make it appear fuller (so the tail washer ended up pulling double duty of the first six ponies!)

This leaves hollow ponies with metal parts inside subject to not only rust after being exposed to moisture, but also MOLD!

Step 1: Remove the pony's head WITHOUT damaging the pony:

Step 2: Remove the pony's tail before cleaning the inside

The last thing you want to do is get the metal tail washer and clamp wet, especially if your pony needs to soak!
Use needle-nosed pliers to reach inside the body and pull the tail out.

Step 3: Use tools and cleaning products to reach all inside crevices of your pony:
To get to gunk inside your pony's body, you'll need something small and preferably flexible. Children's toothbrushes, bottle brushes, aquarium filter brushes, and medical swabs can all be used to scrub hard to reach areas like toes and ears. You can pour hot water and oxi clean directly into a pony and let it sit for a few minutes to loosen up gunk in hard to reach areas.
